Muse #137

A very Happy Monday,

I seem to be a bit hooked on the challenges at Muse Card Club at the moment. I think what I like is that each week the cards are so different that I find it quite inspiring to try something new.

This week the very talented Michele challenged us to use patterned paper. Like Michele I am a CAS designer and using DSP is, well, a real challenge for me! However encouraged by her use of adding her own little touch of stamping to a card covered in DSP, I gave it go.

Here is what I came up with:

I got this paper from Virginia when I met up with her this year and I have been wanting to use it for ages. I knew I wanted to add something to the centre but just wasn't sure what. A hunt through my stash and I came across this fun Uniko explosion stamp. I stamped this and fussy cut it out, coloured it and stamped the 'wow' in the centre. I used the closet colours I had to match the paper. I added the explosion stamp onto the card using foam pads and curled the edges to give more dimension. This was really fun to make.

I know this is really different for me but I like it and think it will be good for a congratulations card.

Here is Michele's card:

Butterfly Muse

Hi All

I am playing along with Muse again this week.

Our Muse is Joan and she has created a gorgeous card for us. As soon as I saw her card I started creating. I was drawn to the water coloured background and the white embossing. I actually made 2 backgrounds and left them over night to dry and flatten. I am not so happy with one of them but hope to see what I can do with it later.

Here is the one I finished this morning. I embossed the butterfly with sparkly white embossing powder, fussy cut it before adhering to my water colour background. I coloured the centre of the butterfly really to hide the adhesive!

Here is Joan's card:

Hopefully I will be able to rescue the other card and post later in the week, although I wouldn't hold your breath!!

I will also enter this into:

Oh What Fun!

Hope you are all having a good day,

I have just made a card that is quite different for me. I have used patterned paper, a banner and paper pieced. Honestly, I really have plus I had a lot of fun creating this:

This was inspired by Tracey's card at Muse. I went with the kraft, the lay out and instead of a leaf, I added this fun banner. I cut a slit in the top of the mug so I could pierce my banner into the it. I have stamped the 'cool beans' in the centre of the mug but the rest has been paper pieced using paper I found that matched the banner.

I was going to make this card more CAS but decided to go with more patterns after I saw the latest 'Birthday' challenge at The Challenge. I loved all the patterns in the photo and I also used the colours as a base.

I am joining the The Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with this card as my colours have an Autumn feel.

The sentiment stamp is from Happy Little Stampers. They have a new release out-check it out here.

Enjoy your day x

Muse Bubbles

Hi All

Today my card was inspired by Anita's card at Muse. As soon as I saw Anita's card I loved how she had created the bubble background and wanted to give it a go.

Here is my attempt:

This took me such a long time as I wanted to use 2 different tiny circle stamps I have from STAMPlorations. I hadn't realised it would take ages to stamp and heat emboss. I then water coloured over these in soft pastel colours as Anita did.

Not my usual style but I did find it fun to do something a bit different.

Here is Anita's card and thanks for the inspiration Anita.

Celebrate today!

Hello All,

I am sorry for not visiting so many of you this week but I have not been feeling so well. However today I was browsing blogland and saw a few challenges that inspired me to craft-the best way to recover!

First my card using a sentiment from Stamplorations and a sparkle stamp from Visable Images

This card was inspired by Anita's card (see below) at Muse Card Club. I was taken by the turquoise/gold combo and the big black sentiment. I had actually die cut a gold glitter leaf for this but then saw the CAS sketch at Sovushka Slavia (see below) and changed direction!

I will also enter this into the 'Celebration' challenge at Less is More

Muse Card Club

Hello my crafty friends,

Today I am sharing my card for the Muse Card Club.

This week the card by Joan immediately made me think of making a Christmas card. Here is what I came up with:

I loved the crisp look of her card and the little bow. I stamped the bow on some scrap, coloured it and added WOS. I then fussy cut it out and added it to my card using a foam pad to give dimension.

All these stamps are from Winnie and Walter.

Another Christmas card done!

Muse Card Club

Hi there,

I haven't played along at Muse for a while now but this week Tenia's card really caught my eye and I wanted to have a go at CASEing it. This is what I came up with:

When I saw Tenia's card I knew I wanted to use my type writer stamp. I have used delicata gold ink instead of embossing. Tenia often uses splatters so I got them in plus I had a go at using staples to adhere the vellum-makes for a funky look I think.

This was a fun card to make, so thank you Tenia for the inspiration!

Her is Tenia's card:

Kylie's Christmas Card Challenge

Well this is it, December is here!! Are you ready my friends? Are all your cards made?

My answers are no and no!

However Kylie is here to help us safe the day. She is running a Christmas card challenge and offering a fabulous prize (chosen by random) of a custom designed watermark and signature worth $40!!

Kylie designed my water mark to my exact wishes-to reflect my blog name and therefore we have Big Ben!!

I decided to create a card that was very close to my watermark and here you go:

I hope you can see the similarity??

And here is my watermark on its own:

She even got the font the same as my blog header....pretty cool. And how talented is that!

So do you fancy your very own watermark??

Treat yourself to a Christmas pressie and enter Kylie's Xmas card challenge here

You have until the 21st Dec 6pm (AEST)

I am also entering this into the Muse challenge. I loved Caroline's card and was inspired by her tag and the grey and red-I really am liking the use of grey as the base card!

Muse #94

Me again!

I don't normally post 2 cards in a day but I just made a card for the Muse Challenge and the next few days I have pre-scheduled posts so wanted to share this now.

I haven't played at Muse for a while but this week as soon as I saw Marion's  card I knew what I wanted to make. I loved the mix of colours and the design. I have stayed very close to this but used a butterfly stamp instead of a balloon. The stamp is from Uniko (Bright Butterflies) and the font also from Uniko (Fontiments-Birthday)
I have also added some sparkle!

I hope the photo isn't too dull, I used my daylight lamp to help brighten it up as it is dark outside now. I do love the end result and I got use my enamel dots and gems again....where have they been recently??

Thanks Marion for the inspiration.

Muse take 2!

Happy Belated World Card Making Day!

I did get to make a couple of cards yesterday on our special day and I am here today to share one of them for the challenge this week at Muse

Kimberly's card really inspired me. I loved the lay out and had the idea of using this to create falling snowflakes and was so pleased when yesterday I got some time to do this.

I haven't entered Muse for a while and this week I have entered twice! Kimberly really did inspire me with this card:

I will be back tomorrow with the other card I yesterday.

I will also enter this into Marina's Festive 48-any Xmas card.

Have a fun Sunday x

Time Out Reminder-Just stamp!

A very happy Friday Eve my crafting friends.

Today I am here to remind you that there is still time to join in our challenge at TIME OUT Challenges

'STAMP with an optional twist of Apples'

All you have to do is include stamping on your project and add an apple if you want....prizes up for grabs!

Here is my card-with no twist just good old stamping!

This card was inspired by 2 challenges.

First up the photo at Fusion this week caught my eye and I have been thinking of what to do for this since it came out last week. I don't have any sunflower stamps but wanted to use yellow flowers in some way as I thought it would be a refreshing change from Autumn colours. Then I saw Kimberly's card at Muse this week and had a ping moment! I loved the design of Kimberley's card and used this as my starting point but decided to go one layer.

I have used a variety of flower stamps here and actually added a few of my own black lines so the card flowed better (to my eye!)

I will also enter this into the Anything Goes Challenge at STAMPlorations as I have used their Eclectic Florals stamps and Sentiment Builders-happy.

Now it is your turn to join in our challenge at TIME OUT Challenges...go on take some TIME OUT and all you need to do is stamp-how easy is that!!

Inspired by many!

I have not been so well since last Sunday night and have done a lot of sleeping in the last few days and creativity seem to have escaped me! However today I was doing some blog hopping and saw this card by Bev my fellow DT member at TIME OUT challenges. I loved this card and as I had just this week received the same Butterfly stamps from Bev's Uniko Studio store, I thought I would see if my mojo was coming out to play! With a little help from a few more challenges I created this card:

I went looking for a layout and came across the card this week by Therese at the Muse Card Club challenge. I loved the one layer design of Therese's card with the flowers overlapping the sentiment. I changed the flowers for butterflies but followed the general layout. It has been ages since I played along at Muse so I am pleased that today it helped inspire me. I used the colours this week at Colour Q. I loved the combo of the colours and think they worked perfectly for my card. I love the touch of bright green sparkle I added to the butterflies.
I will also enter this into the challenge at Crazy for CAS who are this week asking for Butterflies!

Texture and More Texture!

Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by Therese's card at the Muse Club Challenge. As soon as I saw the wood grain background and the combo of colours of the card I knew I wanted use my copper sheets. Last week I received a package from the lovely Loll that contained cork and copper sheets. I was so touched by this kind gesture and have had a lot of fun playing with this gift.

Here is what I came up with using this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch

I really have gone wood grain here but I love all the texture in this and even managed to get a bit of cork thrown in!
A big thank you to Loll and if you pop over to her blog and read this post she has lots of tips of how to use these copper sheets.

And here is Therese's card:                                 And the Sketch:

Just for You

Happy Friday Eve,

Today I have a card for you that was inspired by Lori's card here at the Muse Club. I liked the layout of Lori's card and in particular the panel with the curved edges. I also wanted to make a linen coloured card for Jackie's Pantone Colour challenge (free custom design blog header to be won with Jackie's challenge)

(hover over the image and click on the pin to save to pinterest)

I found this flowered card in my stash along with these buttons and just followed Lori's layout to create this card.

And before I go I wanted to say a big thank you to the team at Casology who picked this vintage typewriter card as the winner this week. I am still doing the happy dance!

Hope you all have a great day x
