CASE at Less is More

Hi All,

Popping in with a CASE of Rebecca's card at Less is More.

I loved Rebecca's card and come up with my take on this:

Here is Rebecca's card:

Keeping the same layout but using a stamped image instead of the die. But using the die for a sentiment. Here I have used fun foam in a reddish colour and used black card behind it to give a slight shadow.

The die is from STAMPlorations.

Cheers!

Hi All

I don't normally post 2 cards in one day but just realised that the My Favourite Things-Clean and Simple Challenge ends today-I thought I had a few more days! This got me motivated as I also had an idea for a card for the latest AAA Card Challenge-inspired by a TV show.

Here it is:

Are any of you old enough to remember the comedy show 'Cheers' with the actor Ted Danson? I watched this in my teenage years and loved it. So this card is a nudge to that show. I also have another....more up to date idea for this challenge but lets see if the idea turns into a card...as you know, they don't always!

I made this card as CAS as I could, even for me....I wanted to add some of my enamel dots but stopped myself!

I have used MFT uncorked stamp set for the sentiment and the MFT die-namics wine service for the wine glasses cut in fun foam.

This goes off to my very dear niece who just got a new job!

Enjoy the rest of your day xx

Silent Night!

Hi All

I hope your weekend is going well

Here is quick card for you:

This was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. At first I had no ideas but then DT member Jen's take on the I thought was so creative-I hadn't thought of flipping it over- and an idea popped into my head-thanks Jen for the inspiration-check out her card here

The dies were a pressie from the lovely Kylie and I used glitter card to cut them out. The snowflakes were simply stamped and the sentiment heat embossed in gold-both these are from Winnie and Walter. There is lots of dimension here, with lots of different sections popped up on foam pads-although hard to see in the photo

I will enter into:

Inkspirational #171

Hi All

Time for a new challenge at Inkspirational.

But first off we have some very exciting news!
We are expanding our Design Team and have 3 superb designers joining us:

Anila
Marlena
Pia

Welcome Ladies!

I have for a long time been fans of all these amazing designers and can't be happier that they are joining our Ink Team.

If you click on their names above you can go to their blogs and you will just love what you see.....I always do!

Also to find out more about Anila, Marlena and Pia pop on over to Inkspirational-you can also see their first stunning cards for us.

It is our word prompt and the the word is:

Comfort

I went with the comfort we all feel when hugged!

I used this hugs die from Winnie and Walter

I used a stitched die cut panel cutting some score lines to this. I cut it from some previous watercoloured card and just layered it on some soft peach fun foam so you can see the peach as a shadow. Mounted this all on some lilac card that was the closet match to the die as I could get.

All the Design Team have made super cards for this challenge and pop on over to Inkspirational and take a look.

Then get inky!

Enjoy!

Twinkle!

Happy Weekend my crafty friends!

Another very CAS Christmas card for you inspired by the latest sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. I loved this sketch and knew I had to play along and wanted to make another 'just stamps and ink' card and super, super CAS.....just so my heart could be happy!

This stamp and sentiment are both from Verve-now closed sadly.

I know this looks super simple but boy did I have to play around to get it just how I wanted it. And have to say...I love it!

I have added texture to the base by using my linen embossing plate...naturally!

Have a fun weekend:

Shine Brightly

Hi All,

What do you do when you can't sleep?

I was awake at 3am and by 4.30am gave up and decided to craft.

I have a couple of sketches that have caught my eye recently and here is one of the early morning makes made inspired the one of them.

My fav kind of card-one layer and just ink and stamps-makes my heart happy!

As soon as I saw the sketch at CAS colour and Sketches I thought Christmas card!

I used a sentiment from Verve (now closed) and some star stamps from a set my crafting friend Gerrina gave me a few years ago-every year I find another stamp in this set I haven't used and ink it up-thank you Gerrina.

This will be entered into:

I will be back tomorrow with another early morning make inspired by another sketch!

Enjoy your day x

Crafty Friends!

Hi All

Yesterday I was lucky enough to meet Cornelia IRL!
We have been crafty buddies for a number of years now and it was an absolute joy to meet her IRL-loved my time with you Cormelia x

We had planned to meet in New York with a group of other crafty buddies but I was too ill to travel so it was wonderful to have a re-do!

Cornelia gave me some lovely crafty goodies. One of which was this New York Skyline Die...she said as I hadn't made it there earlier in the year, she was bringing it to me!

And here is how I put it to use, inspired by some challenges I spotted today:

The layout is from the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch-I will enter this.

It was also inspired by:

AAA Cards-Imagine-I took 'imagine' as me imaging one day I will be in New York-my dream!
The Library Challenge-The Oscars-it was actually the book cover that caught my eye first as I thought it looked like skylines but then also 'The Oscars' reminded me of how much the Statue of Liberty looks like the Oscar award!

Inkspirational #168

O.K so how did I get to this card from the word snap?......

I pondered on this for weeks and then thought you 'snap' when you loose your temper or get angry. And what is a good thing to do to help you not to 'snap'....breathe and count to 10! Or if you do 'snap' then to calm yourself down.....breathe!!.....just like in a yoga or mediation class!

And why red and blue....the red colour of anger moving to the cool, calming colour of blue!

A 'CAS' card yes, but I promise you, a lot of thought went into its creation!!

Plus when I showed it to hubby to see if he could tell me how I went from snap to this card-he said the cut/torn part was like I had snapped the card.....nope I didn't see this until he mentioned it!!

I used the stamp set 'Breathe' from CAS-ual Fridays

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Cathy. I have admired Cathy's creative and inspiring cards for many years now and am delighted she is joining us-take a look at her blog here

Then pop back to see what Cathy and the DT have made for you here

Enjoy!

I m going to add this to:

CASology-Sports-it is the perfect expression for 'Yoga'...going from that feeling of being stressed to the relation you feel as you breathe into a stretch and after a class!!

Monday, 20 August 2018

Finally I created!

A happy Monday to you all!

I know you have seen some posts from me but they were all cards made a while ago. Then yesterday my friend Nonni asked me how I had made a card I sent her. I couldn't remember! So after looking it up, I thought that was fun to make....lets see if I can do it again!! So thank you Nonni for inspiring me to actually make my first card in weeks!

Here it is:

I had a look around for some challenges and found the sketch at CAS(E) this sketch to give me the layout. I used the sketch to make the background using the watercolours in brush stokes following the sketch. I liked my arty take on the sketch.

The colours I got from Just Us Girls. I didn't have the right green in watercolours but mixed a green I did have with a green brusho colour and thought it worked.

I used the open Concord and 9th butterfly so you can see the background. The butterfly is covered on Wink of Stella and really dies sparkle.

If you are interested how I did this.....you watercolour your background card in the colours you want and leave to dry. Then watercolour another card in the same colours but in the opposite order. This way when you die cut the butterfly and place it on the background there will be a contrast in colours-here you see the green of the butterfly is over the blue background and the blue is over the green background!

This was relaxing and fun to make.

Have a fun day x

I will enter it into:
