CAS(E) this Sketch

I hope you are all having a fun Sunday,

Last week I was not in a crafty mood and didn't make any cards for a week. I had a little 'virtual' chat with blogging friend Joyce and she suggested a few little tips to get my mojo working. I took said advice and have been on a roll since. I have been making mainly future DT cards but today made this card inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I wanted to do and it worked first time!

I used my splatter die again. I used it as a stencil first with distress ink and then cut the splatter out with glitter card. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations

Here is the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch

I will also enter this into the CAS challenge at STAMPlorations going with the twist of silver.

Enjoy the rest of your day x

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented and creative Kristina. Take a look around her blog here and you will see what I mean!

Our DT have all made some stunning cards-take a look here and then join in the fun.

It's Clear!

Hi All

Yesterday afternoon I had a light-bulb moment and made this card:

I loved the cue word at CASology this week-Clear-and was going to use acetate to make a card. Then I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and 'light-bulb' moment!

Light bulbs are clear (in the main) IRL but I wanted to go bright!

I flipped the sketch.

I used a set from Lawn Fawn and wplus9 to make this, mixing up sentiments from both.
I loved stamping the light bulbs in rainbow colours and thought it really complimented the sentiment.

Have a bright day x

Fusion-Woodgrain Neutral

Hello Again,

I am back today but this time with our new challenge at Fusion.

We have this fun photo and sketch for you:

You can create a project using the photo, the sketch or combine the 2.

This week I have fused the 2 by taking the earthy colours from the photo and used the sketch as my lay out.

I thought this would make a fun card for a music fan and could be used either for a guy or gal!

I heat embossed this the record player, fussy cut it out, added the sentiment. I then popped it up on foam pads for a little dimension. I just added the music DSP and a few gold enamel dots to finish.

Our DT have all created fabulous projects for you. Take a look here and then get inky!

The Card Concept #47

Hello All,

We have a new challenge for you at The Card Concept. We have our colour challenge-cream, chocolate, kraft and grey. We also have this fabulous photo to inspire you:

I found this colour combo a tough one but actually ended up making a one layer card using a very old stamp:

I was inspired by the yummy looking cake and decided to use all our colours to colour up my stamped cake.

First off I stamped the cake in rich cocoa ink, then used copics in warm grey, skin white (for the cream) and brick beige (for the kraft). The card base is also cream. I am not the best at colouring but this was fun to make.

My card is 'Clean and Simple' but you can use any style you want-check out here how we define these styles. You can mix them up also. Just have fun!

Our Guest Designer this week is the very talented Lesley, she has stepped out of her comfort zone and gone all Shabby Chic and what an amazing card she has made.

Our DT have all come up with some fabulous cards using all these styles-have a look here, then get inky!

Love!

Hello All,

I am starting the week with LOVE!

Here is my card inspired by a few challenges:

This was inspired by:

The Curtain Call-something girly. I picked up on the gold, black and pinks in the photo and all us girls love hearts!
Sunday Stamps-I used their sketch as my layout. DT member Teresa's card  really inspired me.
Paper Players-CAS Valentine
CASology-open-my heart die is open, I am sure we all have open hearts!

Have a Gorgeous Day!

I hope you are all having a fun weekend.

Here is my card for today:

Last Monday I saw the colour combo at The Challenge. I liked the idea of the orange and teal but wasn't sure about combining it with the navy blue but decided I would give it a go. On Monday I created a ombre orange panel using water colours and this panel had been on my craft desk all week! I had no idea what to do next. Then last night I decided I would die cut it to flowers and leaves. Then I did the same with some teal card. I messed around with the layout and eventually came up with this. Stamping the sentiment in navy blue.

I wasn't sure I would manage this colour combo but I guess that is why we call them challenges.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend x

One die, 3 cards in a row!

Hello All

Today I have another card using the left over die stash from this card.
Yesterday I used the let over white card from this die as a stencil and today I have used the left over glitter negative die to create this:

I had this lying on my craft desk. I was browsing blogland and saw the new challenge at CASology where the cue word is 'OPEN'. Quite a few of the DT had used negative dies to interpret the word. So I took a leaf from their book.I also thought this splatter die was like when someone or thing was bursting out into the world!

This Uniko sentiment has really come in useful to match up with this die.

So 3 cards from cutting up this die!

Hello!

Hello my friends

On Sunday I posted this card using a new splatter die. For my card today I used the negative die as a stencil and made this card:

I used lilac and grey inks to sponge through the die and kept moving the die around so I could get the splatters at the top of the card. Just added a few sequins to finish off.

I based my lay out on the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and used the colours from Cupcake Inspirations.
I will also enter it onto:
Pile it on-use something on your card that is from your first initial-I used sequins.

Have a fun day x

WOW!

A very Happy Sunday,

I had a busy day yesterday out and about in London. Today I am resting and felt like doing some crafting this morning.

I got some new dies last week and thought I would cut out the splatter die and then have a hunt in blogland to see if any challenges inspired me.

I saw the sketch at retro sketches and this was my starting point. I created this, with my lay out based on the sketch:

I cut one splatter out of white card and just used gold embossing powder on the tip. Then cut the die again but this time in blue glitter card.

Enjoy the rest of your day x

This was a fun make and I will enter it into the following challenges.

The Little Things

A very Happy Weekend to all,

I am popping in today with a very CAS card.

The idea of this card popped into my head when I saw the challenge this week at CASology. The cue word 'Simple' reminded me of this sentiment I have used before (STAMPlorations)

It is the simple things in life that we often forget to cherish-our family and friends being right at the top of the list! This is why I added these hearts-3 heart dies stuck together and then coloured with pale blue. I liked the dimension this added. The hearts were a gift from Darnell-thank you Darnell x

I used the colours at colourq. Loved this colour combo and used SU crumb cake for my kraft. The 'cherish' has been heat embossed with 'melon mambo' embossing powder.

I will also enter this in to STAMPlorations CAS challenge-anything goes with option of silver

Have a fun weekend x

Fusion is celebrating being 2!

Hello Again my crafty friends,

I am back again today but this time I am here to celebrate Fusion's 2nd Birthday.

Fusion has been here in blogland for 2 years now and we would like to thank you all for your support. And a big thank you has to go to Lesley for all her hard work behind the scenes making sure this challenge runs smoothly!

We are doing something a little special for this challenge but first off lets take a look at our graphic.

You can use the photo or the sketch or why not combine the 2?
I actually used the sketch and the photo to create this:

The flower has been heat embossed on vellum then coloured with copics.

As a special celebration each DT member has invited a Guest Designer from our crafting communing that we admire and asked them to join us in making a card to inspire you.

I have chosen Kylie  I chose to invite Kylie as my Guest Designer as I admire her ability to create cards in all styles from CAS to mixed media and every card is incredible. She is not only an amazing card designer but a wonderful friend, owner of a number of challenge blogs and now runs her own stamp company Happy Little Stampers

You can see what Kylie has created here plus all the DT and their very special guests.

And we would love to see you celebrate with us!

I will enter this into:
