Purple and Silver

Hi All

When I saw the photo this week at Just Us Girls I couldn't resist joining in....I mean purple and silver was crying out my name!

A super CAS card:

I used delicata ink for the silver and used the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch for my layout. Linen embossed the card, added a few silver and purple gems and rounded the corners and finished!

I will also enter this into the 'congratulations' challenge at Addicted to CAS where they have a 4th year Birthday party going on. Congrats to Kylie and the team there.

Enjoy your week x

A CAS and soft Christmas.

Hello my crafty friends,

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend.

I got some crafting in yesterday and made this card inspired by a few challenges:

This gorgeous Nativity die was a present form the lovely Patti. I saw her use this on her blog and mentioned how much I liked it. The next thing I know it arrives in the post for me. A huge thank you Patti.

I was inspired by the 'soft' challenge at CASology this week. I wanted to use plenty of soft texture so used a base embossed card, a fabric embossed panel of cream card and then the die is actually cut from fabric. I also used the soft colour combo of white and cream-one of my favourite colour combos from CAS cards.

My layout was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I will also enter this into:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend x

Time Out #71

Hi There,

Happy Thanksgiving to all our crafty American friends-have a wonderful day.

Time for our theme challenge at Time Out .

Our theme is:

Christmas with the optional twist of using glitter and/or shimmer.

I went with the twist and included both glitter and shimmer:

The glitter is sticky tape and the bauble is die cut from a sheet of brusho card I made a while ago. I used Christmas-purple, red and gold-brusho colours and added some gold shimmer to it. The design of this card was inspired by Sarah of Funky Fossil Designs

Our sponsors for this challenge are Uniko. The sentiment I have used here is a Uniko stamp. I simply stamped it with gold delicata ink (love that ink!)

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Valentyna. I am sure many of you already know her wonderful and inspiring blog. If not take a look here and prepared to be amazed!

Our DT and Valentyna have made some wonderful cards for you-take a look here.

Time for you to take some TIME OUT and gey inky.

Enjoy x

I am going to enter this into the challenges

Just Us Girls-gold, teal and purple (my purple is a mix for my brusho card used to make the ornament)
Uniko-Christmas-using Uniko sentiment
52 Christmas Card Throwdown-old fashioned Christmas-this ornament is from a 'vintage' set.
Less is More-vintage-this ornament is from a vintage set and although it has sparkle it is still a very CAS design.

Embrace Your Creativity

Hi There,

I don't normally post 2 cards in one day but I wanted to share this with you.

My card today was has a sentiment I really love and I think is perfect for all of us!

I was thinking this week about the 'embrace' challenge at CASology and was going to make a 'hugs' card. However I was looking through my stamps and came across this sentiment from The Ton and suddenly a new idea popped into my head.....how about making a card about 'embracing our creativity'. This is what I came up with using the colours from Colour Throwdown-orange, red and green- I had been looking as the colour combo and really liked it although thought it was a real challenge but ended up working just right for this card.

Have a fun week and remember to use as much creativity as you can!

AAA Cards #78 Circles

Hi All

Time for a new challenge at AAA cards. This time we are theme is:

CIRCLES

Here is my simple take on this theme:

I had some circle patterned paper that I really like and just found some card from my stash that matched one of the circles on the paper. I dry embossed this with a dotted embossing folder that I thought followed the circle theme.

I think this will make a good card for a guy and I am always very short on these.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Jessica-check out her blog here.

We are sponsred for this challenge by Stampendous.

Hope you enjoy this challenge and remember to keep your cards 'Clean and Simple'.

Check out what our DT made to inspire you here

Inkspirational #122

A very happy weekend to you all,

It is time for a new challenge at Inkspirational.

We have our word prompt challenge for you and our word this time is:

Chill

Here is my card:

I was going to go with ice in a drink or something for Christmas but then my mind went to interpreting the word as 'relax'. It was also perfect timing as my Dad had an op just around the time I was making this and I thought would be good for a 'get well' card.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the super talented Teresa. Her blog is so inspiring-check it out here. Teresa supports our challenge so much and her cards are always amazing-thanks Teresa for supporting Inkspirational.

Our DT have all made superb cards, check them out here then take some time to 'chill' and craft x

I will enter this into:

One Layer Simplicity Challenge-peace. Peace comes to us all when we relax!

The Card Concept #62-Thanksgiving

Hello All

We have a stunning photo for you at The Card Concept.

Here is my 'Clean and Simple' card:

And our photo:

I was inspired by the flowers in the jug-there are ones that change from yellow in the centre to orange.

This card was also inspired by Tracey's card at the Muse Challenge this week. I loved the focal point of Tracey's leaf and the changing colours and I think you can see how my card follows this.

You can create a card using this photo as inspiration and use any style of card making you want or combine a few styles. Here is the definition of our styles.

Our Guest Designer for November is the very talented Lisa. Check out her blog here and you will see so many creative projects.

Our DT have all made some wonderful cards inspired by this photo. Check them out here and then get inky.

A Good Read

A very Happy Sunday to all,

I have a card for you today using a new set of stamp from Happy Little Stamper-Wish you were here. This isn't a Christmas set but I decided to make it one!

This was inspired by the latest 'one layer cards' challenge at Less is More

I thought I was going to give this challenge a miss but then deicded to have a look at all the books I had read recently. Then a light bulb moment hit me when I saw a book that my blogging friend Shauna recommended to me. It is called the 'Paris Architect' by Charles Belfoure. It is one of those books you can not put down. If you want to see find out more about this book, just click here.

I hunted to find a sketch I could use and went with the latest at Freshly Made Sketches-flipping it and using score lines for the horizontal line and my snowflake stamp as the circle. Here my snowflake stamp is illuminating the Eiffel Tower......I can't believe how many ways this stamp can be used!

I will also enter this into the CAS challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

Have a fun Sunday x

Honey I Shrunk the Kit'-Vintage Vessels'

Hello All

I am here today to share with you the cards I have made with my virtual crafting honey buddies:

Together we make up the 'honey girls'. We have a kit club together called 'Honey I shrunk the kit' You can see our logo below.

This time the lovely Hazel sent us a fabulous pack of goodies with the theme of:

'Vintage Vessels'

I am not a vintage girl as you will see but I am starting off with my attempt at 2 vintage cards then as we go along you will see the inner CAS Sandie slowly emerge using the same set of goodies!

Here we go-I have used the mason jar die and some gold vintage gems from Hazel's fab goodies:

I have to admit this card was inspired by this card I loved on pinterest and is very similar to it but with my take on vintage added. The sentiment is so old I can't remember where it is from. I was worried about adding all these sequins and thought it would take forever but Nonni gave me a special pencil she got when she went to Japan and using this with sequins makes it so easy. But I think you might need to travel to Japan to get one!

And card 2:

Gosh this card took me hours to make. I had an idea in my head but every time I tried it out...in the bin it ended. I played around for ages trying out different things. I really wanted to use these die cut jars that were in the pack plus this chevron DSP. Well in the end this is the card I made. I found these little flowers in my stash and coloured the petals to match the paper. I then found some gems to add to the jars...I now realise they are not straight but too late! Although not my normal card I actually think it is quite sweet and am sure I will use it at some point....thanks for pushing me here Hazel!

Card 3....see the inner Sandie is being released.....

This card was inspired by the little tea cups that Hazel sent us. I used the same design I used for this card but this time used the cups instead of leaves. I randomly stamped the tea cups and then used the die cut Hazel sent us coloured with promakers to match my die cut sentiment from STAMPlorations. For this card I followed the sketch at Sovushka Slavia

I will also enter this card into the STAMPlorations CAS challenge twist of purple

Finally the inner Sandie emerges and CAS is here again!!

I used this sweet little vase die cut from the pack adding my own little vintage gold pattern. Score lines ground the die holding stamped gold flowers. I added the sentiment on the leaft top to balance my card. All the gold is stamped with delicata ink so looks embossed IRL.

I will enter this card into Addicted to Stamps and More-CAS

This was such a fun kit to play with. So a huge thank you to Hazel for this. Here is a photo and product list of the kit.

Stampin' Up: Jars of Love stampset and corresponding Everyday Jars framelits; Beau Chateau patterned paper; Tea for Two patterned paper
Paper Smooches: Free Spirits and corresponding Free Spirits Icons
Clearly Besotted: Time for Tea; Feel Better
Other: large gold rhinestones; cork label and gold doily - my stash

Now time to visit the Honey girls:

Enjoy x

Purple Peace

Hi All

I am back with another Christmas card.

Today I have a card inspired by the 'Purple and Gold' at Less is More and the peace challenge at One Layer Simplicity Challenge plus the sketch at Sovushka Slavia

I had the idea to use this burst stamp from The Ton as a wreath for a while but hadn't got around to giving it a go. Finally I have stamped it up with gold delicata ink and simply stamped the 'peace' sentiment, added a few gems, enamel dots, rounded the corner and done!

I think it works as a wreath in gold...next time I will choose green to give it a more traditional feel.

I would like to say a goodbye to Chrissie at LIM for giving us so many wonderful challenges, you will be missed. I am sure Sarah and the team will take this challenge over in style and make Chrissie very proud.

Faux Metal Joy.

Hi There,

Today my card was inspired by the Kimberly's card at Muse: Christmas Visions. I loved this card and made my own version:

I am sure you can see I was inspired by:

-the layout
-the colours
-the sentiment

I just swapped these elements around and instead of the black die I gave a little nod to the black by adding a few sequins and gems.

The 'Joy' element is made using the 'faux metal' technique I learnt from watching this video I found on the challenge this month on Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge. I actually didn't think I would have the patience to do this but...shock, horror I did!
I actually even dry embossed the faux metal before I die cut the 'Joy' to give it a more metal appearance.

Here is Kimberly's card:
