A very happy Friday to all,
My card today is for the photo challenge at Festive Friday. First my card then I have to tell you the little story behind its invention!!
I have been wanting to make a card for this challenge since I saw the photo last week but no ideas came to mind. I couldn't seem to get the wood grain out of my head but then today the reminder post came up and I had a ping moment....or so I thought. I knew exactly what I wanted to do. However I started making my card then thought...I think I have made this before and yes I had here admittedly using a lighter green ink. So what to do??? I stared at the card and thought how can I change this so I can enter it as I still loved the design and thought it was so right for the photo. Another ping moment came....add dimension. So I stamped the garland again on scrap card and fussy cut it out just adding one gem. I added these garlands just above and below the ones stamped on the main card using foam pads. And changed the sentiment.
I thought this was a little lesson for myself-how to refresh a design you love using different design elements. And I think I like this design better!
I have to say I am slightly concerned that my memory is so bad I thought I had had a brand new idea!!
I will also enter this into:
Virginia's View Challenge CAS (sorry Virginia I have a few more entries for this over the coming week!!)

Have a Festive Friday x
Well done in reinventing your fab design. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I really liked the first card but I have to agree this one is just a bit better! It's fantastic! Love the dimension and the tiny bit of bling. :-)
ReplyDeleteDouble ping action, with double awesome results. The fussy cutting and bits of bling are charming special touches! Perfect for the Festive Friday challenge (I need to find my wreath stuff...)

Fabulous CAS design, Sandie! Love how you added the dimension. Have a lovely weekend x
ReplyDeleteTwo ping moments! You lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteI don't know anyone in blogland who has the ability to make so many different designs using the same stamps and keeping to the same CAS genre. I say BRAVO to that!
Go Sandie! I love how you modified the design. Truly fabulous end result! And do you know how many times I go back the same layout and never realize it?! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love your card and your wreath is so beautiful. So happy you made this card, just perfect for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteThe dimension, and the darker ink, gives a great design a great twist - it makes your wreath more extravagant and I love it. Thanks a lot for joining in with my Festive 48. Hope you can link up again next week. Marina http://myperfectlifeuk.blogspot.co.uk
ReplyDeleteIt is funny how we get a particular design or layout in our head and keep returning to it. I do it quite often and have to change things around too. This looks fantastic with the different layers, amazing what a difference it can make. And talk about perfect fussy cutting!!! I might have to try doing some of xmas cards like this too!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha. Great redo. Saw it at Virginia's.
ReplyDeleteOh how creative you are! So glad you joined us at Festive Friday with a new version of your older card! It's just stunning! I love the added dimension!
ReplyDeleteLove your twist on your earlier design! A beautiful CAS design and great for the photo inspiration too :)

ReplyDeleteThis is just delightful, Sandie! I love how you stamped AND your added dimensions. Truly FAB! So glad that you join the fun over Virginia’s View Clean and Simple Challenge! Please keep your CAS projects coming :)
ReplyDeleteCatching up on my blogrounds... This one is super; like the simple design and little colours. Special with the dimension! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteHey, Sandie! I, too, enjoyed the first card, but like this one even better, I think! I always like the lighter green for a change, but for the holidays, I think I like the darker even better…and love the added dimension! Beautiful! Thanks so much for joining us at Festive Friday!!!
