Time Out #30

Hello All,

This week at Time Out Challenges we have our 'Home Sweet Home' photo inspired challenge. Here is our photo:

There is so much to inspire you here-colours, flowers, stripes and much more. I sat down to create a non CAS flower power card but just I was about to start I decided to zoom in on the cushion and got distracted by the grey leaves. After looking at this I noticed that the wall paper also has grey leaves. With this in mind I created a very CAS sympathy card:

I simply die cut a number of these leaves in grey and topped them of with a white one that I cut from some card I had already embossed with wood grain. I added the sentiment in grey.
Definitely not a non CAS flower power card but there you go, that is how crafting take us sometimes!

Our Guest Designer this week is Joyce. I am sure many of you know Joyce but if not take a look at her blog Cards-by-the-Sea-it sure is worth a look and I am sure you will come away inspired!

How will this photo inspire you?
Take a look here to see what our DT came up with.

Then kick back, take some TIME OUT and join in the fun-you have until 6th May 5pm BST to play x

I will enter this into the 'Layers and Dimensions' at Virginia's View Challenge-I am pleased I have managed to get layers and dimensions and still be CAS!

Happy Days with Fusion.

Hi All

I am here my card for Fusion's Happy Days Challenge. The photo this week totally inspired this card-the stripes was the big pull but the other colours and the red flowers I have also used. I challenged myself to make this a one layer card.

The stripes and flowers are both from Uniko and the sentiments are a mix of Stamplorations and Winnie and Walter

Here is the Fusion photo:

Inkspirational #81

This week at Inkspirational we have our 'Word Prompt' challenge and our word is

'Space'

Being a CAS loving gal I immediately thought of the 'white' space needed to make your card 'clean and simple'. I combined this white space with negative space to create this card:

I used this sentiment die cut from Winnie and Walter. I need a bit of practice with securing the card when using negative space but I hope you get the idea!

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very creative Sue. Take a look around her Creative Studio and be inspired!

Then pop over to here and see how our team have interpreted this word.
Enjoy!

We have Elaine and Michelle joining us for this challenge-2 fabulous Guest Designers.

I have used the Uniko stamp set Paradise-Hummingbird

I love this stamp set and just did some masking and used bright colours to create this card.

Time Out Reminder #29

Have you joined our latest challenge at Time Out?

It is our 'Inspired by Words' challenge

'You can't make a rainbow without a little rain'

Use any of these words or the whole phrase to create.

I went super CAS and and heat embossed this image and just added the sentiment and a mix of gems and sequins. The image has a very slight text on it which looks fab IRL but quite hard to see in the photo.

Michele is joining us again this week as her GD and we are so pleased to have her with us.

Take a look here to see what she and the DT have created to inspire you.

Then you know you need some TIME OUT of your busy schedule to craft and join in the fun!

This card is another entry into The Challenge-this time I have gone with the umbrella and the text (the silhouette has a ext background)

I am going to enter the 'showers' challenge at Addicted to CAS and the 'Up and Away' challenge at Less is More-I have lost many umbrellas on a windy London day! And for the same reason I am entering the 'Blowin' in the Wind' challenge at one layer simplicity challenge.

Addicted to Stamps and More #141

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. This week we are going with 'Anything Goes'

Here is what I created for this challenge!

I needed a Birthday card for my hubby (it was last Saturday). I had seen this sentiment at Visible Image and thought it was just perfect for him. We didn't meet until I was 37, married when I was 39-he is my toy boy-2 years younger! I really do wish we had met when we were younger and then I would have been able to love him longer!
Although it did take me 37 years to grow up, so perhaps we met just at the right time!

A little crafty secret-that red strip of card wad added to hide up a black ink smudge. I had the card ready to photograph and noticed the smudge. Being a crafter who really doesn't like to re-do and would rather 'cover up' this red card was added. I actually think it looks better with this.

We are sponsored this week by Sweet Pea Stamps. They have the most amazing stamps and the winner of this challenge will get 4 digi stamps.

Our DT, as always, have some fabulous cards to inspire you-take a look here

I loved the photo this week at The Challenge-so romantic and perfect for my hubby's card, the colouring (grey with pop of red) and the sentiment behind the photo are the inspiration.

I will enter this into the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch

Enjoy!

Uniko Challenge #20

Hello

We have a new challenge today at Uniko and this time our theme is:

Things with Wings

I have used my all time favourite Uniko stamp set Paradise-Hummingbird. I simply stamped this in delicata silver ink. IRL it looks like it has been silver embossed however it was hard to capture this:

I just think this stamp is a stunner and needs little more than simple stamping to make it shine.

For this challenge we are very excited to have 2 very inspiring Guest Designers, Elaine and Michelle joining us-they have both created fabulous cards for this challenge.

Remember with this challenge you can use any stamp sets you want, it doesn't have to be a Uniko stamp.

As always we have some prizes for you:

-The DT will choose a winner who will get a £20 Gift Voucher for Uniko Studios plus be invited to be a Guest Designer for our next challenge.

-Our DT will also choose a top 3 and all will get  £5 gift voucher.

-If you do use a Uniko stamp we will do a random selected prize to win a £10 gift voucher.
Guest Designers are still welcome to join in on the current challenge too.

Time to get stamping. You have until Friday May 1st 8am GMT to link up.

All the DT have made projects to inspire you. Pop over here to see these and then join in the fun x

TIme Out #29

Are you ready to take some Time Out and join in our new challenge at Time Out?

We have our 'Inspired by Words' challenge for you this week and our words are:

'You can't make a Rainbow without a little Rain'

You can be inspired by the whole phrase or you could choose just 1 or 2 of these words.

You might want to go with rainbows, so many possibilities there! Or perhaps rain or you could go with 'little'. Let your creativity bloom!!

I went with the whole phrase as I had a stamp with these words on. I then focused on 'rainbow' by water colouring over the embossed sentiment, in the colours of the rainbow.
A few little splatters to finish off the card.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Michele. Her blog Crimson Owl Creations is full of the most creative and inspiring projects and we are so pleased Michele is joining us.

So how will you be inspired by these word? Take a look here at what Michele and our DT created to inspire you.

I will enter this into the 'showers' challenge at Addicted to CAS
And the 'April Showers' challenge at Make My Monday
I will also enter the 'Springtime' challenge at AAA cards

Happy Birthday Monika!

A very Happy Monday,

The lovely Monika is having a Birthday linky party to celebrate her Birthday and I am here with a card for this party. I wanted to make a card with a butterfly-a CAS card that was a nod to her card at the bottom of this page and here it is:

I got the idea for the colour combo from the latest challenge photo at Fusion-I was attracted by the red, blue and silver. I stamped up the butterfly with red in the centre then the blue. I added clear embossing ink around the edges of the stamp and randomly in the centre (my clear ink pad is now blue and red!) and then heat embossed the stamp. I like how this turned out. I tried to pick out the red by heat embossing in red on vellum.

I followed the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.

I hope you like your card Monika-if you want to join in her party just link up here

Uniko April Blog Hop

At Uniko today the DT are re-visiting some stamp sets hopefully to get you inspired of different ways to use these stamps. Also as a little head start on our challenge later this month (see if you can guess the theme???)

I decided to use the Bright Butterflies stamp set. I tried something new to me. I just got some masking fluid for water colouring and wanted to try it out. Here is the result:

I stamped the butterflies then covered them with masking fluid and then water coloured the rest of the card. I then removed the mask-so easy to do. I know we don't see black butterflies but I quite like the look of this.

Here is the set I have used today:

BRIGHTButterfliesProdPic

We are having a blog hop and all you need to do to win one of the sets we are showcasing or a gift certificate is comment along the way-so hop away:

I will also enter this into the 'Add a Butterfly and/or colour inspiration' at House of Cards

Inkspirational

It is our photo challenge at Inkspirational and here is our photo:

Yes, Easter has gone, however there is still plenty here to inspire you. I was immediatey drawn to the splatters on the eggs and created this card which I know will be so suitable for many of my friends!

This sentiment stamp is from Paperartsy and I used one of their other stamps for the splatter.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Bozena. Take a look around her blog ArtCardBox it is full of inspiration, I am sure you will have fun.

Take a look at how our DT and Guest Designer have interpreted this photo here

Then join in the fun x

CASEplorations!

A very Happy Monday,

Today I am playing along at the CASEplorations challenge at STAMPlorations.

This month the challenge is to CASE a fabulous card by the very talented and fun Kimberley. I always admire Kimberley's cards and when I saw her card for STAMPlorations I had to join in the fun.

Here is what I came up with:

And here is Kim's card:

As you can I see I kept to Kim's lay out but decided to have my base as a pastel mix of water colours. I had to leave this overnight as I water coloured straight onto the base card so it needed a night to flatten out.

The rest of the card was created with a little help from my crafty friends.

-I used a die cut that STAMPlorations DT member Maria sent me.
-I heat embossed the sentiment that is from the STAMPlorations 'celebrate artsy' set-a pressie from Nonni
-the washi stickers are from Kim

Aren't craft friends the best!!

I finished off the card by using enamel dots instead of the butterflies Kimberley used.

I really enjoyed making this card. Kimberly's card was so inspiring-thank you!

I will also enter this into 'Add a butterfly/colour challenge' at House of Cards

Lets Party!

Happy Easter!

I am popping in today with a card I made yesterday. It has been water coloured so needed to flatten over night under a pile of boxes.

The idea for this card started with the sketch at Happy Little Stamper. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I would be playing along. I wasn't sure what colours to use but this is where Colour Q came to the rescue.

I used water colour clear masking fluid so I could follow the sketch but not let the colours run too much. Once the water colour was dry I embossed the sentiment from Winnie and Walter.-I will enter the Join in to win challenge at Winnie and Walter.

Have a good day

Time Out Challenges #28

Hello All,

This week at Time Out Challenges our challenge is:

'CASE with your own twist'

This week we are CASEing one of my favourite designers Kim. Her blog is Art Keeps Me Sane and I urge you to pop on over there as her cards are always inspiring and her posts full of fun. I love to visit regularly and always come away ready to create.

Here is my CASE of Kim's card:

I have followed the lay out of Kim's card using masking to create the flower border. My twist was to go with a white base rather than a coloured one, make mine a one layer card and not to colour but to just stamp.

Here is Kim's card:

Isn't it fabulous!

As it is Easter we have prizes. No, not chocolate but crafting goodies from our very special sponsor Clearly Besotted Stamps (Kim has used their stamps on her card). The winner of this challenge will get a £20 gift voucher to spend in their store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Claire. Check out her blog Life on the Scrap Heap -you will be inspired!

You can see what ..... and our DT have created here

Time to...take some TIME OUT and join in the fun!

I would like to join in the celebrations at The Challenge who are having a 1 year Anniversary
 bash!

And the 'Spring' challenge at CASology
And 'Easter Colours' at AAA cards

Crafty Friends!

Hello Crafty Friends,

My card today is for all of you:

This was created after being inspired by these 2 challenges:

Less is More-combine 3 of previous challenges. I have used #110-one layer, sentiment only, #103-Friends, #213 this makes me happy-you know me ink and stamping is my crafty passion (I was meant also to be going with #161-green and yellow but some orange must have sneaked onto my yellow ink!)

Fusion-I nearly gave this a miss this time around but kept looking at the yellow and in particular the spotty yellow and white cup cake base-so I went with this and added my washi ink labels. It took me ages to find a tiny circle to make the washi tape look like the cup cake base but find it I did!

Hope you all have a fun day x
