Uniko April Blog Hop

At Uniko today the DT are re-visiting some stamp sets hopefully to get you inspired of different ways to use these stamps. Also as a little head start on our challenge later this month (see if you can guess the theme???)

I decided to use the Bright Butterflies stamp set. I tried something new to me. I just got some masking fluid for water colouring and wanted to try it out. Here is the result:

I stamped the butterflies then covered them with masking fluid and then water coloured the rest of the card. I then removed the mask-so easy to do. I know we don't see black butterflies but I quite like the look of this.

Here is the set I have used today:

We are having a blog hop and all you need to do to win one of the sets we are showcasing or a gift certificate is comment along the way-so hop away:

I will also enter this into the 'Add a Butterfly and/or colour inspiration' at House of Cards

  1. Dramatic and striking Sandie. There may not be many black butterflies in nature but they definitely look great on your card. I bought masking fluid a few months ago but so far not plucked up the courage to use it!

  2. Butterflies on your card I understood as memories of days long past. They trace in our memory, the shadow of the joy that had once was our participation. Great card with subtext of.
    Thanks and best regards,

  11. That's the wonderful thing about creating your own cards, you can make things whatever colour you want. And I didn't even think about it to be honest, I thought they just looked so crisp against the soft background. Awesomeness!!

  12. I love your watercolor background, Sandie. I just used rubber cement to mask an image. Hadn't done that in a while but it does work wonderfully as seen in your card.
