Distress and more Distress!

A very happy Monday,

I had an idea for the 'distress' challenge at CASology last week when my laptop was driving me mad. I wanted to pick it up and smash it against the wall. I know you all know this feeling. What do you do when the computer is playing up....press control, alt, delete and cross your fingers! I was very distressed. Light bulb moment which led to creating this card using the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch for my layout. If you have time and want a giggle carry on reading after seeing my card to see how distressed I really got making this card!!

The stamps are from CASual Fridays and inside the card I have used from the same set 'we all need a re-boot'. It will be a fun card for someone going into hospital for a minor op, to make them smile. I made a stencil after die cutting my splash die and just sponged with distress ink.

Now for the story behind the card:

Once I had the idea, this was meant to be a quick and easy CAS card-no. I got the stamps out and had a play so I knew where I wanted to position them. As I came to stamp them, I had lost the 'Ctrl' stamp. I looked everywhere for it-under the table, the bed, in every drawer. I was getting more and more distressed. And where was it-stuck to the 'delete' stamp. It took me over 30 mins to find.

While I was making the card I decided to run a bath and by the time I had finished the card the bath was freezing, so no bath.

There are a few other things that happened that made me more distressed making this but I won't bore you.

Today they seem funny and I like the card but yesterday I really was distressed with a card that should have taken me 5 mins!

Enjoy your day x

Inkspirational #103

Saturday morning and that means it is time for a new challenge at Inkspirational.

This week the super talented Pia has chosen our challenge and it is:

Geometric

This basically means use shapes-circles, squares, chevrons etc. Here is a image link if you need some ideas:

Geometric images

I went with circles and chevrons. And used a scrap piece of card that I had previously been practising some distress ink sponging to cut my bubble die!

Not my best card but I hope it gives you some ideas.

Our Guest Designer this week is the very talented Justine-take a browse around her blog here for some inspiration.

Then pop over to Inkspirational and see what Justine and the DT have made to inspire you.

Enjoy

I will enter this into the distress challenge at CASology

A Friday Make!

Hi All,

Yesterday I saw the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches and an idea popped into my head. CAS Colour and Sketches was the first design team I joined a few years ago so it was fun to join in here.

This morning I made this card using the sketch and the colours at ColourQ

All of these stamps are from Uniko. I used the washi tape stamps, slightly over lapping them. I white embossed the flower stamp, fussy cut it out and then coloured the back of this in turquoise. I just got some new inks and luckily one of these was very close to the 'poppy parade' colour-I used this to stamp the sentiment.

I will aslo enter this into the 'make your mark' challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

Have a fun Friday and enjoy your weekend x

Dare to be Fabulous!

Hello,

This afternoon I was browsing blogland and saw the sketch at Can You CASE it? and suddenly I had an idea for using this with the challenge at Colour Q.

I flipped the sketch and made this:

I heat embossed this flower and stem in black and added the enamel dot for my one spot of colour for ColourQ. I really wanted to add a few more enamel dots but wanted to challenge myself to keeping to the 'one' spot of colour.

When I was making this I kept thinking, why are you making a black flower? I decided I was being daring and then this thought led me to this sentiment. I have a few friends who I know this will be perfect for!!

I used this stamp earlier in the week and quite a few people have asked me where it is from-here is the store link:

I will enter this also into:

We are excited that this week we have the super talented and creative Cornelia joining us as our Guest Designer. Her blog Fun-Stamping is so inspiring, take some TIME OUT and have a browse.
