Fusion-Sweet Orange Blossoms

Hi again

Now it is time for a new challenge at Fusion.

You can use the photo or the sketch to inspire you. You could also combine both.

I have gone with the photo and used one of my favourite Uniko stamps.

I had so much fun making this. I embossed the Hummingbird on vellum then coloured the back side of the vellum. I then added lots of glitter. I used a textured card base. I really do love this card!

Here is our photo and sketch-which will you use? Or do you fancy fusing them? I am looking forward to seeing what you create.

Our Guest Designer for April is the very talented Bonnie Sharp. Check out her blog The Lucky Clucker here and you will love what you see!

A Friday make

A happy Friday to you all,

I have a card today inspired by a few challenges I have wanted to play along with this week. Yesterday I got the chance to have some crafty time.

Here is the card:

I decided I wanted to challenge myself again to enter the ColourQ Challenge-I had no idea how I was going to get the blue and the coral onto my card but came up with colouring my butterfly blue and my pearls coral using copics. Another week that I have made, what to me are really hard colours, work...yes I am pleased with myself!!

That gold strip is actually adhesive tape that I picked up from a shop in Covent Garden-a little find! The butterfly is a new one from Concord and 9th

The layout is from the latest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

I had the idea to use the butterfly from the adorable photo at Addicted to Stamps and More-check it out below.

I will also enter this into the 'metallics' challenge at Uniko-the sentient is actually a Uniko one.

Hello All,

Time for a new challenge at Time Out Challenges. It is our 'Home Sweet Home' photo challenge. We have a really fabulous photo for you and here is what I created:

Here I have used the new Doodles Flowers stamp set from Happy Little Stampers. I stamped the flowers then used zig pens. Nonni's pen that I played with when I stayed with her a few weeks ago! I fussy cut the flowers then layered them up using foam pads.

Here is our photo:

Look at that amazing mix of patterns and colours. Then you have the brick floor and so much more. What will inspire you?

We are very happy to say that this challenge is being sponsored by Happy Little Stampers

Butterfly Birthday!

Hello All,

My card today has been spinning in my head for a few days and this morning I actually got around to creating it:

Happy Little Stampers  are CASEing Joyce's card (see below) this month. I loved her card and wanted to give it a go. I also really wanted to join in the 'white space but not white' challenge at Less is More. I love to use coloured base cards so was really hoping I had chance to play.

I started off by cutting the stitched panel then kept this flat using sticky tape. I then heat embossed the Butterfly Birthday  stamp across this and the base card. I coloured in the centre part and decided to heat emboss this stamp again on vellum, coloured the back side of the vellum and attached it to the card. I wanted to make it a bit different from Joyce's card by adding the vellum. The sentiment is from the same set and heat embossed again. I then popped up the centre panel.

I would also like to enter this into the new challenge Creative with Stamps-Butterfly. This challenge just opened and is run by the lovely Monika and Lilian (good luck ladies)

Here is Joyce's amazing card:

This was a fun card to make and involved more steps than I am used to but I am pleased with the overall CAS look and was so pleased to get to use a coloured base.

Thanks Joyce for the inspiration

I will also enter this into the Anything Goes challenge at Happy Little Stampers

A Real Challenge For Me!

Hi All,

I find colour challenges a real challenge especially when you are asked to use over 3 colours. This week I decided to challenge myself to use the colours at Colour Q. I was doing this just to see if I could. My idea was to go with pretty flowers and butterflies and this is what I ended up with:

No flowers, no butterflies, a graphic card but I got all those colours in! Sometimes when I have an idea in my head and sit down to craft I go a completely different way. I am sure this is because I wanted to enter the 'washi' challenge at CASology. Get this...I own no washi tape, only washi stamps. Here my washi stamps are from Uniko. I cut out the middle one and popped it up on foam pads to add some dimension. I used the latest sketch at CAS(E) the Sketch for my layout.

It was fun to make this card and I will enter it into:

CASology-washi

Have a fun day x
