Festive Friday take 2

A very Happy Monday to you all,

I am popping in today with a card that was inspired by the photo at Festive Friday. I used the colours and got the idea from the love heart wrapping paper. This is hubby's Xmas card. I apologise that the photo is not good but I was having problems with the Winter Sun and in the end ran out of time!

I know this looks like it only took me 5 mins to do but this is probably took over an hour. After spending ages trying to thread a needle (must have been years since I did this) I didn't have enough red cotton to finish my 3 kisses! I had to hunt for some more and found some in one of those hotel sewing kits but it wasn't the same red-I started again. We won't discuss my second attempt at threading the needle!! Then I couldn't get a photograph with out shadows. Boy for a simple looking card this caused me a lot of pain. Hope hubby likes it!!

Have a fun day......I need a rest now.

  1. Oh he will love it Sandie and you persevered through the needle threading. My eyes are getting close to needing readers so needle threading is not a strength these days! Love the clean crisp result. Thanks so much for playing at Fusion! PS So glad Saturday was a success!

  2. Oh boy; sometimes a card looks stunning and simple and takes ages to make and sometimes it's the other way around... After all that the card is super CAS and great! Hope you have some fun things planned this week... Sunny greetings, Gerrina

  3. For me it is like this: the simpler the design, the more time spent as for CAS cards the little details are so important so they need to look neat. I think this is a brilliant design, Sandie, simple and effective and clever stitching!

  4. Isn't it always the simple ones that are the most work?! It's super cute though. I bet your hubby loves it :)

  6. I agree: sometimes 'simple' isn't as simple as it seems. Your card here, though, is well worth the time and energy invested, and the 'grrrr...' that came with threading the needle (I so hear you!!). Your husband will love this card, as do I!

  11. Well after that ordeal, sounds like you could use a hug to go along with those kisses. Or some chocolate maybe? Sometimes the cards that look the simplest are the ones that take the longest because they have to be so perfect in order to feel put together. This one certainly delivers and was well worth the frustration!

  13. Methinks Callum will LOVE it. And I love that you attempted a spot of hand- stitching ... and with great success. The effort is certainly worth it, my friend. (I take hours, sometimes days, to make a CAS card!)
    hugs, Asha
