Time Out Reminder

Have you played along at TIME OUT Challenges yet? We have our 'Inspired by Words' challenge this week and we have these words:

'Birds of a feather flock together'

You can use just one of these words or more to inspire your project. Last week I went with birds and this week 'feathers'

My aim here was to make a dramatic black and orange card for the Fusion challenge using the colours and the drama look from their photo.

I have 2 versions of the same card and am interested to know which one you think is best-I can't decide?

First off with a ribbon:

And with the ribbon removed and gems and enamel dots added:

I don't get on so well with ribbons but thought it went with the drama look I wanted. I am more in my comfort zone with the dots!

I am going to be brave and enter the ribbon version into Fusion....stepping outside that zone for a change!

Our Guest Designer Jill has come up with 2 amazing cards for you, check them out here

Out DT at TIME OUT have come up with some fabulous cards to inspire you to play along-you still have nearly one week to join us xx

  1. Beautiful card, Sandie! For some reason I like the card with the ribbon, the bow is just perfect, but it's gorgeous either way.

  2. Before I saw which one you wanted to enter I was voting for the ribbon card. The black ribbon is beautiful and definitely gives a touch of dramatic balance.

  3. Ooooh! Very dramatic. If I had to choose.... probably the big black bow but that only because I do love a little (more) drama!

  5. Sandie ... we have to choose?? They're both gorgeous ... the drama of the ribbon is so striking ... and the enamel dots reflect the middle shape and movement of those fab feathers! I choose both! Anita :)

  6. I am with Anita on this one...I could never choose. They are both equally stunning and those feather, just beautiful.

  7. Enamel dots are more my comfort zone too, Sandie so I'm glad you went with the more dramatic ribbon :) Love the feathers too, by the way.

  8. I love enamel dots too, for some reason when nothing else works, they seem to fit in perfectly. Those feather stamps are just beautiful by the way, so detailed yet very soft. And you've done it again with your orange/black combo...amazing!

  9. It always amazes me what a little change of detail can do to a design. Though very similar you've created two very different looks, that's a really clever idea when in need of mass production. Which I'll probably need to do with my gift tags this year...

  10. Catching up...spend most of my time outside the last three days; enjoying the beautiful autumn colours that now are everywhere and we did the last work on the garden... Think the card with the ribbon is indeed dramatic, but since I can't work so well with bows in ribbons I like the dots most... Hugs, Gerrina

  12. I love both cards (great colours and gorgeous stenciling!) - I agree with the other comments that there is no need to choose between them! I really do like the ribbon though - I find that I am really good at collecting ribbon (not so good at using it!) so I am always in awe when I see it used so perfectly on a card!

  16. Aiming to catch up on commenting before we head back home (super sad face!); your feathers, situated against the wonderfully stenciled background, are stunning! As Nonni noted: dramatic and striking!
