AAA Cards #73-Upcylcing

Hi All

At AAA Cards we have a new challenge and are asking you to 'upcyle'.

Here is the card I made:

Here I have 'upcyled' this 'love' die. I made it over a year ago and did have it on a card but really was not so happy with the rest of the card. It has been in my box of cards since then. This challenge gave me the chance to actually use it again for a new card. It came just at the right time as it was my Brother's 25th Wedding Anniversary this year so I had a reason to recycle the die. Blogging friend Rahmat send me this gorgeous textured card so all I needed to do was stick the die to this card and add a few silver gems and a silver sentiment and done! Felt good to pop it in the post knowing I had finally made use of the die and this time loved the card I made!

Our sponsors for this challenge are Happy Little Stampers. The winner will get a $20 gift voucher to spend in their fabulous store.

Angie and our DT have all made some superb cards-pop over to AAA and have a look. Then join in the fun and don't forget to make those cards 'clean and simple'

Can't wait to see them!

Honey I Shrunk the Kit-Monster Madness

A very Happy Weekend to all,

Our team of 'Honeys' have been virtual crafting again with what we call 'Honey I shrunk the kit'

This time the lovely Sarah supplied a fun kit that she called 'Monster Madness' and fun it was!

I am not so good at using cutie stamps but once I had a play I really did have a lot of fun.

Here is the first card I made:

I used the patterened paper Sarah sent plus coloured in one of the fun monster images, adding the googly eyes and just stamped some balloons...kinda cute!

And my second card-much more my style I think:

The idea for this second card came from fellow teamie, Coralynn, at AAA Cards. As soon as Sarah's pack arrived I remembered this card Coralynn had made which I loved. She very kindly said I could CASE it. And here is my version, practically the same with a few little twists-thanks for the inspiration Coralynn.

And my third monster card:

Here I used the frame Sarah sent and more monsters with my basic colouring plus some googly eyes and the twine Sarah sent.

Card number 1 and 3 really stretehed my creativity and I think not the my best cards but so much fun to do. Thanks Sarah for this.

Here is a photo and content list of what Sarah sent us:

Stamped images (in Versafine Onxy Black) – Stamped sentiments (in Memento Tuxedo Black)
Duplicate images stamped, one on watercolour card and the other on copic friendly card.
Clearly Besotted: Out of This World, Eye on You, Blast Off
Lawn Fawn: Monster Mash
Dies:
Pretty Pink Posh Peek-a-boo & Stitched Frame
Doodlebug:
Sprinkles
Bakers Twine
Design Paper

Misc. Googlie eyes

Now time to visit the other Honeys and see what they all created from this same kit:

I am also off to see what they have made. This is such a fun way to 'virtual' craft and I can't wait to play with the next kit x

Inkspirational #117

A very happy weekend to you all,

We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational. This time it is our photo challenge.

Here is the card I made:

And here is our photo:

I was going to do a travel themed card but kept looking at the teddy and just wanted to pick him up and give him a hug. So I went with this idea. I got the brushos out and made the background by mixing a few colours. The 'hugs' die is also cut from a scrap piece of brusho and layered on a few back dies. I wanted to black to provide contrast with the citrus colours.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Linda, check out her blog here. We are so pleased that Linda is playing along with us.

Our DT and Linda have all made amazing cards. Take a look here and then get inky and join in the fun x

Addicted to Stamps and More-photo-I got the turquoise of the duvet for the sentiment and the yellow and green of the back wall (can you believe I missed the purple!)

Time Out Challenges #65 Reminder

Hi There

Time for me to remind you there is still time to join in our latest challenge at Time Out Challenges. This time around we have our 'Inspired by Words' challenge and our words this week are:

'Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to grow again next year' (Chad Sugg)

You can use any of the words in the phrase to inspire you are focus on the whole phrase. I decided to go with the word 'encourage' and made a card that I thought could be used to encourage someone who needed it on a particular day...say for an interview, exam etc. But also I could use this for a Birthday-well lots of reasons really.

CAS-ual Fridays are our sponsors for this challenge and the sentiment stamp is from their stamp Butterbows. I water coloured the background card in rainbow colours then used the STAMPlorations stitched die to give it a funky edge. I then die cut this frame and butterfly out in white card. However the white didn't look quite right so I decided to colour it using promarkers and copics. Can you believe it...me using copics and water colouring in one card!!

Our GD Rema is joining us again this week. Her blog Paper Panache is full of creative and inspiring projects-take a browse.

Our DT have all made superb cards, take a look here, then join in the fun.

Don't forget the winner gets a $25 gift voucher to use at CAS-ual Fridays
xx

I will enter this into:

Addicted to Stamps and More-photo-doesn't that back wall look so much like my water colour background!

Sending Hugs

Hello All,

This afternoon I have had a little time in the craft room to play.

This card was inspired by the colour challenge at Less is More-colours of peacock'r feathers. I thought this was a really original idea for a colour challenge and had to get straight to getting inky. I did have a hunt around blogland for a few more challenges to give me the lay out and final ideas.

This is what I created:

I apologise for the shadows but London decided to get cloudy and as I knew this was the only day I would get chance to blog for a few days I wanted to get this posted....so shadows we have!

I used the peacock colours of gold, turquoise and purple.

The solid butterfly is made from a larger piece of water coloured card that is a mix up bushos colours using the clingfilm and starch method which gives a stunning marble effect. The open butterfly die is cut from gold glitter paper. This was glued onto a STAMPlorations stitched rectangle following their Sketch Challenge for the layout. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers

It turns out that Less is More originally inspired the idea for this challenge and a little hunt around blogland gave me further inspiration to complete. Here is the list of challenges I thank for doing this:

CASology-stitch
NBUS-Darnell's challenge of 'never been used schtuff'-these dies are newbies.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend x

In the end this was posted off as a Birthday card.

CAS-ual Fridays are our sponsors for this challenge and the sentiment stamp is from their Sassy Smiles set. And there is that snowflake stamp again being used for what I thought was like sun rays but really used to highlight the 'Smiles'.
