Celebrate!

Hello my friends,

Today I have a card made for my nephew, Scott, who is going to the British version of U.S Prom night. To be honest I am not sure what we call here it here. When I was a teenager, many, many moons ago, we didn't have a prom, we had discos. You didn't go along with a partner, you went with your girlfriends and danced around a handbag.....oh the good old days!!

My Mum asked me to make her this card for Scott. He is going with a girl who is wearing a red dress and he is co-coordinating with a red tie (so sweet!). Before I tell you how the design of my card came about, have a look and see if you like it!

I have been thinking of about the design of this card for a while, then when looking through my Fresh Squeezed Stamp's blog, I came across this card by Jennifer and and just loved this CAS design and thought this would work well with a tie stamp.
I was also inspired by the repetitive design and colours on the dress at Runway Inspired.
Operation Write Home Bootcamp this month is all about repetition in design and after reading this I decided to add variation by using the embossing folder on the background card. And finally, one of my favourite challenges, CAS on Sunday, has a black, white and one other colour challenge, so this card really has the last bit of inspiration it needed for me to get inky!

  2. Love that embossed background and that singular red tie...very clever. Going back the same number of moons, we called it was called Social or Formal....which now sounds odd! I feel oh so old now.

  4. How sweet of him to put on a red tie to match his prom date. And I like how you made this gesture visible on your card too. I think your design is fabulous, with the personal touch and the use of black and white and a little pop of red.

  5. Great CAS design and a super example of how to use both Repetition and Variation in a design. Thanks for joining in the June Bootcamp!
