AAA Cards #72

Hi There,

Time for a new challenge at AAA Cards

This time our challenge is to make a 'Clean and Simple' card using:

'A new to you technique'

I chose using brushos. I know these have been around for a while now but I had not given them a try until Kylie came to visit me in July. She taught me how to use them and I have been having fun since then.  Here is my card:

I cut the butterfly panel from a card with a mix of brushos on and then the blue background is also made using brushos. I simply layered this onto a black frame and done!

I ended up taking this photo with a black background but on reflection this was not such a good idea but too late it is been posted!

Our sponsors this week are the fabulous Stampendous

Stampendous

Our Guest Designer is the very creative Alexandra-we are so pleased to have her join us.

So what new technique will you try?

I am looking forward to seeing your cards and remember to keep them Clean and Simple-my fav!!

I will enter this into this into Darnell's NBUS challenge #7-both the frames and butterfly have never been used before.

It's Almost Here!

Inkspirational #116

Hi there,

We have a new challenge for you all at Inkspirational. This challenge we want you to use either 2 or 3 of primary colours. That's red, blue and yellow (I had to look it up to remind myself!)

Here is what I made:

I got the idea of this layout from DT member Nonni. I really liked how she had placed the elements in this card here and it inspired my card today-thank you Nonni.

2 simple dies from Concord and 9th layered with one enamel dot and a sentiment from Happy Little Stampers-so CAS I love it!

Our Guest Designer is my fellow teamie at Time Out Challenges, the very talented Shona. Shona's blog Twine Around is full of creative and inspiring cards, I urge you to take a look around. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

All DT members have made amazing cards-take a look here.

Have fun x

Time Out Reminder #64

Hi There,

Time for me to remind you that you really need to take some TIME OUT and join in our latest CASE challenge at Time Out Challenges.

We are CASEing the fabulous Julia Altermann. Her blog Just One More Card is full of inspiring projects and lots of instructional videos-take a look.

Here is the my take on Julia's card:

And Julia's card:

This time I was inspired again by the colours an the stitched edges but I also did some basic colouring (shock, horror!). The double dies are both coloured using copics then they have lots of sparkle added to them with WOS. Such a shame you can't see this. I even coloured the centre gems as they were pearl coloured. Basic colouring on this card but that is all I can really master!

This card was for my very good friend and fellow teamie at Time OutNonni, who celebrated her Birthday on Monday-hope you liked it Nonni and it arrived in one piece x

Our Guest Designer Jenny is joining us again this week and her card is outstanding. Take a look here and see what Jenny and the DT have made to inspire you.

Go on take some TIME OUT and join in the fun x

I will enter this into:
Less is More-Exotic-I think my colours are exotic and remind me of paradise plus this butterfly could easily be seen in paradise...I wonder if there is a butterfly these colours in paradise??
Happy Little Stampers-anything goes with dies-the sentiment here is from HLS.

Let's Dance!

Hi There,

This afternoon I saw the new challenge at CASology-Fun, and an idea popped into my head. I had been thinking of the 'Exotic' challenge at Less is More and the Silhouette challenge at Addicted to CAS for a few days as I wanted to enter both. It wasn't until I saw the 'Fun' challenge that the idea for this idea card came to me. Weird how this happens but great when it does!

This is what I came up with:

The background is made out of brushos and just looks like the most exotic sunset. What could be more fun than dancing the Tango at sunset. The idea came to me quickly but it took me ages to decide what colour panels to put the card onto. I tried lots of ideas and finally came across this cream coloured card that I rarely use as it looks a bit to yellow to me but it seem to go perfectly with the brusho background.

The sentiment is from PTI and the silhouette is from STAMPlorations.

My sister is a superb dancer and this card is going to her.

Have a good day my friends x

I will enter this into:

STAMPloration CAS-gold-could my sunset be golden-if not I go with no twist.

Time Out Challenges #64

Time for our CASE with your own twist challenge (copy and share everything) at Time Out Challenges.

This time we are so very happy that we have the chance to CASE the very talented Julia Alterman. I am sure many of you know Julia and know how so very talented Julia is. If not take a visit to her blog Just One More Card. I guarantee you will come back inspired.

Here is my CASE of Julia's card.

Here is Julia's card:

Not being very good at colouring I looked for other things in Julia's card that inspired me. I picked out the use of her frames, the blue and yellow colours and the sequins. I really liked how this turned out and got to use my new STAMPlorations dies-the outer frame and the 'hello' die. The centre frame is popped up for dimension.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is my fellow teamie at AAA cardsJenny. I am always inspired by her cards and so pleased she is joining us for this challenge. Her blog Craftmosh is a delight to visit-pop on over there and enjoy.

Our fabulous DT have all CASEed Julia's card with their own twist's-take a look here and then take some TIME OUT and join in the fun x

Bon Jour!

Hello there,

Now my card today may look like it took me 5 minutes to make but oh no....it took me hours! I had the idea and everything planned out, tried out and balanced then I lost one of the sentiments. I have looked and looked for it but it is still hiding. I know it will turn up one day soon but not today!

I wanted to finish the card today so went with another sentiment.

Here it is:

This is meant to be the Eiffel Tower at night with all the lights shining from it. I used that snowflake die again but this time for lights (such a fab stamp from Visable images).

This card is the first card in ages I have made just for fun and is for the 'French, one layer card' challenge at Less is More and based on the lay out at CAS(E) this Sketch.

The other card I made like this is still waiting for the lost sentiment, when I find it I will share it with you.

AAA Cards #71 Blending

Hi All,

Time for a new challenge at AAA cards.

For this challenge we want to see 'Clean and Simple' cards using some kind of blending.

Here is what I created:

I got this leaf dies as a pressie for the very lovely and talented Loll-thanks Loll. I have seen her use dies like this over panels of blended inks and brushos and decided to give it a go myself. I blended together some water colour paints and used 'wet on wet' water colouring to mix the colours together. I sprayed the oval panel with gold glitter but it is hard to see this in the photo. Finally I popped up the oval panel to add some dimension. The sentiment is from our sponsors for this challenge our Happy Little Stampers and the winner will get $20 Gift voucher for their fabulous store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Michelle. Her creativity is amazing. Take a look at her blog here and you will see for yourself!

Have fun!

Inkspirational #115

Hi There,

This week at Inkspirational we have our Designer's choice challenge. The very talented Shauna has challenged us to use patterned paper on our projects with the option of stamping on the patterned paper.

I came up with this:

As most of you will know I rarely use patterned paper so this was a real challenge for me! After thinking for a long time I came up with the idea of using my London tube paper and actually went with the option. I stamped the paper with versa marker and clear embossed this London city scape. I fussy cut this-another thing I rarely do. I popped up this stitched frame after stamping the background with London themed stamps using the colours of our tube lines. Then just lay the city scape across this.

I know I don't often go into detail of how I make my cards but I wanted to with this one as it was so different for me, took long hours of thinking about, a long time to make and a super hard challenge for me. However it was fun to do this. So thank you Shauna for this challenge and here is a warning to you.........I am going to think of a super CAS related challenge for you when it is my turn!

Our Guest Designer is the very creative and inspiring Kathy. Take a look at her blog here and you will see what I mean.

Then pop over to Inkspirational to see what Kathy and the DT have made to inspire you to join in the fun.

Time Out #63 Reminder

I am here to remind you that you still have time to play in our latest challenge at Time Out Challenges:

Holidays with the optional twist of no stamping (stamped sentiment allowed)

Here is my card:

I know, very similar to last week as I have used the same Xmas embossed panel but this time I wanted to see how it looks just using the white card rather than popping it up. IRL it is really does pop and I think I like this one better. It also shows how just changing a few little things like the colours, different sentiment, adding some small detail like the green lines, allows you to stretch your stash further!

The sentiment here is from our sponsors Uniko

Our Sponsors for this challenge are Uniko-you could win a £15 gift voucher for their store if you twist with us-use no stamps-stamped sentiments allowed. I have again used Uniko sentiment stamps on my card.

We are very pleased that our Guest Designer for this challenge Aileen is joining us again this week. Her card last week was amazing and this week I am sure you will agree she has made another inspiring card-pop over to her blog here and take a look!

Pop over to Time Out Challenges and see what fabulous cards Aileen and our DT have made to inspire you.

Enjoy!

Time Out #63

Time for a new challenge at Time Out Challenges and this time we have:

Holidays with the optional twist of no stamping (stamped sentiments allowed)

Here is my card using the twist:

I basically used an embossed Christmas panel and stamped a sentiment from Uniko to finish off my card.

You can use any holidays for this challenge. I went for Christmas as I am so behind on making my Xmas cards.

Our Sponsors for this challenge are Uniko. If you twist by using no stamps-stamped sentiments allowed, you could be in for a chance of winning a £15 Uniko gift voucher.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Aileen. Her blog is a delight to visit. Take a look at it here and you will come back inspired!

Aileen and our amazing DT have come up with some inspiring projects. Check them out here.

You deserve some TIME OUT, so take it and join in the fun
