Muse Card Club

Hi there,

I haven't played along at Muse for a while now but this week Tenia's card really caught my eye and I wanted to have a go at CASEing it. This is what I came up with:

When I saw Tenia's card I knew I wanted to use my type writer stamp. I have used delicata gold ink instead of embossing. Tenia often uses splatters so I got them in plus I had a go at using staples to adhere the vellum-makes for a funky look I think.

This was a fun card to make, so thank you Tenia for the inspiration!

Her is Tenia's card:

Inkspiratonal #79

A very Happy Weekend to you all,

It is time for a new challenge at Inkspirational and this week we have a colour challenge for you and we are going with 'Neon'

Many of you know I like to be organised and often have my DT cards prepared ahead of time. However when I saw this challenge I thought it would be an easy one for me and would leave it until the last minute. What a silly idea, creating under pressure is just not how I roll!
I only have 2 neon inks and these were going to be used for sure and it wasn't until I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch that an idea come to me.
I will enter this into the jon in and win at winnie and walter

I went with my fav splash stamp and created a card that is very true to my own style-I feel it is a good idea to go with what you love best when you are under pressure!

You know what, this was a last minute make but I love it and it is the first time I used by new Winnie and Walter Big Bold Sentiment set. That means it is going to be entered into Darnell's NBUS

Our Guest Designer will be known by many of you as she is on a number of design teams and is one of the most creative crafters I know-Michelle. Her blog I card Everyone is well with a browse!

And our DT have all made some neon delights for you, check them out here and then get stamping x

Addicted to Stamps and More #137

Hello my friends!

It is time for our 'Make Your Mark' challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

'Make your Mark' means your entry needs to contain the use of anything that can make a mark - Stampin' Write, Copics, Promarkers, Painting, Chalks, Watercolours, Sponges, Stencils, Masks etc.

I have gone with watercolours:

Here I heat embossed a large Hero Arts bloom and then water coloured. I like the combo of yellow and purple when water colouring.

We are very lucky that this week we are sponsored by Sweet Pea Stamps and our winner will have get 4 digis from their fabulous store.

Before you go and start 'making your mark' check out the fabulous designs that our DT have created for you here

I will enter this into the 'Mother's Day' challenge at C.R.A.F.T Challenges

Love!

Hello Again,

This week at Less is More the challenge is to CASE one of the DT.

I chose to CASE Sarah. I am on  a few DTs with Sarah and for a long time have admired her creativity.

Here is my CASE:

I decided to go with the silver embossing, hearts and love theme. Sarah's card is square and I can't remember the last time I made a square card so I decided I would give it a go. I have layered up the die cut 'love' using black card. Sarah wanted to see lots of white space so I listened and gave her lots of white space. This die cut is from Winnie and Walter and has never been used before so I am entering this into Darnell's NBUS challenge #4 as well as Less is More.

Here is Sarah's card-a beauty!

I will also enter this into Winnie and Walter-join in to win-March

Fun with Balloons!

A very Happy day to you all!

I have been doing quite a lot of water colouring recently-more cards to show you next week!

After doing all this water colouring I was in the mood for a 'stamp and go' card. A quick stamp and off I go!

I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and decided it was all the inspiration I needed to 'stamp and go'

A quick one layer card using different shades of green so I could enter the 'green' challenge at Addicted to CAS

Even the masking was quick and easy. This was fun to make and I think I need to make a few more 'stamp and go' cards as I feel I need more of a fix!!

All these stamps are from Uniko-check out our latest 'Anything Goes' challenge here-you can use any stamp not just Uniko stamps and lots of prizes up for grabs.

Also this card could be entered into our 'CAS' challenge at Time Out-check it out here-CAS-ual Fridays Stamps to be won here.

Here are the 2 challenges I will enter my card into

A Flower for Many!

Hello All,

I was walking the other day and found myself looking around at the the few trees that are already full of blossom. This made me think of the 'Blossom' challenge at CASology. I noted the colours-a pale pink blossom surrounded by a baby blue sky and I had the idea of using these colours to make a card for this challenge.
That afternoon I clocked a few photo challenges and these inspired me to get out my water colours and create this card:

I have used all Uniko stamps here. I embossed the flower in pink then water coloured it in pink on the outer petals. I then mixed this pink with some white paint for this inner petals. My wash surrounding the flower was my attempt to represent the sky I saw whilst walking.

I will enter this into the following challenges:

CASology-blossom
Simon Says Wednesday-the pink roses gave me the colours.
Dazzling Diva-again the 2 colours of pink roses are represented in my card.
Fusion-large pink flowers-my second entry but this time I went more CAS and only went with the pink flowers

Uniko Challenge #19

A very Happy Friday to all!

It is time for our new challenge at Uniko Studio and this time we are making it nice and easy for you as it is:

'Anything Goes'

We do have an optional twist for you-use this sketch if you want.

I do love this CAS sketch but decided to not twist along this week and made this:

I have used the new stamp set Balloon Bash and Simple Said Birthday to create this. Fellow teamie Nicki used a two tone stamping technique on her card here. I loved how realistic Nicki's card was so took a look at the video she recommended by Jennifer McGuire here. I had a go at this technique and loved it! (thanks Nicki for the tip!)

We are very happy to have joining us for this challenge these fabulous Guest Designers:

There blogs are full of inspiring projects. Take a few minutes to browse around their blogs and then take a look here to see what they and the rest of the DT have created for us.

We are joined for this challenge by a newest design team member Sarah. If you missed yesterday's welcome post then take a look and then visit her creative and inspiring cards on her blog Funky Fossil Designs.

Remember you can use any stamps to join in this challenge and here are the ways you can win some goodies:

-a random draw for a £10 Uniko gift voucher if you use the optional sketch

-the DT will choose a winner who will get a £20 gift voucher

-the DT will choose a top 3 and all will get a £5 gift voucher

Now that is a lot of inspiration to join in and you can let your creativity bloom as the challenge is:

Anything Goes!

Time Out #27

I am very excited this week as our challenge at TIME OUT Challenges is:

CLEAN AND SIMPLE!!

We also have an optional twist of:

Black and White with a splash of colour...remember optional, if you want you can use any colour!

If you do twist with us we will be doing a random draw for a $20 gift voucher from our fabulous sponsor CAS-ual Friday Stamps

Here is my card using the CAS-ual Friday Stamp set  'wait for it'

I have heat embossed the 'awesome' on vellum and then linen embossed the white card. When I made this card I thought I was going with the twist but for some reason I forgot the splash of colour!! However I do love the result of the Black and white so kept with it! I made this card for my blogging friend Kim who is celebration her Birthday today (hope you have got it Kim!)

Our DT have all made some fab CAS cards-take a look here and then take some TIME OUT to join in, twist if you want to be in for a chance of some new CAS-ual Friday stamps

Let it Snow!

Hi All,

I had hoped this year to make a few cards Christmas cards each month but so far I have made only one and this is my second. I am very behind my target but I do find it hard to get inspired when the big day seems so far away!

However this week I really liked the colour combo at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and wanted to play along. I also loved the 'splatter' challenge at Just Us Girls. I had the idea of combining splatters and snowflakes to create this card:

I made it one layer so I could join in the challenge at One Layer Christmas Cards-twist of circles-my splatters are circles-right?
I will also enter the following challenges:
Winter Wonderland-Blue Christmas
Christmas card challenge-photo

The snowflake stamps are from Uniko and the splatter stamps are from Paper Artsy

Xmas card 2 done!!
Have a good day x

Fusion Inspired!

edited to add....this was meant to go out tomorrow but I scheduled it wrong! So an early Mother's Day!!

To all the Mums out there-a very Happy Mother's Day.

To my Mum-you are the best Mum in the world, thanks for always being there, for your love and support and always making me smile!

My card today is not a card for Mother's Day but one that I think suits the day-lots of flowers.

This card was totally inspired by the amazing photo at Fusion this week. As soon as I saw the photo I knew I wanted to try to almost copy it using the Gerbera Uniko Stamp.

Here goes:

I first embossed one flower then did a lot of masking one flower at a time, embossing as I went. I then got out my water colours and tried to use colours very close to the colours in the photo. The bottom right flower I painted the tips of the petals first and then added more water nearer the centre to give it a fading look like in the photo. I was going to leave it with no sentiment as I wanted the flowers to be the star but heat embossing on vellum still let the flowers show through.

This is not my normal CAS style and did involve a lot of masking and mixing of paints but you know what I love the look. Plus it dies look like the idea I had in my head!

Here is the photo from Fusion that inspired my card:

I will also enter this into the 'Take it, Make it' AG goes-use a stamp challenge at Craft Stamper

Inkspirational #78

Welcome to our new challenge at Inkspirational. This week it is the turn of the very talented Yvonne to choose the challenge. Yvonne had gone with:

She Art and/or image of a woman.

I didn't know what She Art was so googled it and found that is often mixed media containing an uplifting comment and often an image of a woman. If you don't want to do She Art you can choose to include any image of a woman in your project.

Here is what I came up with:

I did a CAS mixed media card using water colouring, embossing and dimension. I thought this sentiment covered the 'uplifting' part of 'She Art'.

I did find this a real challenge but after thinking about it for a few days and looking through my sentiment stamps I created this. It is good to step outside your comfort zone now and then. The challenge was out of my comfort zone but I still seem to have adapted it to my much loved CAS style!

We are very pleased that this week our Guest Designer is Lyndal. Her blog Ideas and Paper is well worth a visit-you will come away inspired!

Our DT have all taken a different path with this. Take a look here and then go be challenges and have a go!

Just Dream

Hi All

My card today was inspired by the photo at showCASE your style

I used the colours that popped out for me. I embossed this fabulous sentiment and then water coloured in circles just like the bubbles in the photo.

I challenged myself to keep it one layer so I could enter the 'words' challenge at One Layer Simplicity Challenge. I find water colour cards a bit tricky to do in one layer especially with embossing but I left it under a few heavy boxes over night so that it uncurled!

Here is the photo at showCASE your style

Have a good day x

We are so excited to have made it to our first Birthday and thank you all for supporting our challenge.

I have used the stamp set Strike a Pose from Uniko to make this, embossing the sentiment.

Our Birthday challenge is to be inspired by this photo-I have again gone with the photography theme.

Addicted to Stamps and More #125

We have a new challenge for you at Addicted to Stamps and More. This week we are asking you to be inspired by this photo:

There is really so much here to inspire you but my eyes just kept returning to the chevron pattern on the straws. I really wanted my brain to go with rainbows but nope it wanted chevrons so this is what I made:

I masked off the side panel of my card and used the tiny chevron stamp from this chevron set from Uniko Studio.

I just used a subtle patterned paper to cover the rest of my card and embossed the sentiment in orange and popped up the blue panel to add dimension. I think this will be used for a masculine Birthday card.

Check out what our DT have created to inspire you here and then join in the fun!

I will enter this into the 'masculine' challenge at Just Us Girls

I will enter the enamel dot challenge at The House of Cards

Wishing you a slice of happy!

Another week begins and I wish you all a slice of happy,

As many of you know I love to play along with the challenges at Fusion but to be honest the latest one stumped me and I nearly gave up. I got caught up with the ties and red polka dot. I had been thinking about it for over a week. a Then yesterday I decided I would enlarge the photo and look closely at the patterns on the ties (not the red polka dot!). I finally had a ping moment and decided to make a card designed...now this is specific...on the right hand side of the plaid bow tie!

And here it is:

I tired to copy the pattern as close as I could and then thought this sentiment was perfect for it. I was so pleased when I came up with this idea as creating this pattern was a new thing for me, yet so easy to do by following the photo. Plus once I got the idea it came together really quickly (even though it took forever to get an idea!)

This card is going to a neighbour who celebrates his Birthday in a few weeks.

Here is Fusion's inspiration

I will also enter it into the 'masculine' challenge at Just Us Girls

Have a fun week x

Just For You

I hope you are all having a good weekend.

I played yesterday with some new watercolours my Dad sent me. I made a few DT cards and this card:

I was inspired by the photo this week at Just Add Ink. It was the pink, black and the butterfly that attracted me. My pink looked like it would be as bright as the pink in the photo but when added to water turned to a paler pink, however I still like it. I first white embossed the butterfly from Uniko ans then watercoloured.

I will also enter this into Virginia's View Challenge-embossing.

Thursday 5 March 2015

Now I am happy!

Hi again,

My card today was made for the latest challenge at Less is More

The challenge is 'This makes me happy'.

I have entered this once but had been thinking about this all week as I wanted to make a card that consisted of all the elements that really make me happy when creating and I nailed it with this card.
Here is my happy creating list:

-CAS
-Purple
-linen impression plate
-mix of enamel dots and gems (would have liked to include sequins but the combo I have used here just worked perfectly)
-rounded corner
-stamp and go-I call it this because it is just one stamp and off I go!
-been made for a crafty friend and will be sent with love!

This card is the kind of heart that makes my heart feel happy.

I will also like to enter this into:

One-Layer Simplicity Challenge-words, words, words
CAS on Sunday-Girl Power-make a card for a girl

I would also like to thank our amazing Design Team who have all worked so hard to make our little challenge grow!

You may be inspired by the frames, the colours, the wood grain panels, the branch-just any thing that you spot that makes you want to create.

STAMPlorations Guest Designer.

A very Happy Monday,

I am honoured to be a Guest Designer today for the sketch challenge at STAMPlorations. I was in the top 3 a few weeks ago and was asked to Guest Design for their lasted challenge.

Here is my card:

Yes, I did make this! Not my usual style I know but I saw a tutorial in the Craft Stamper magazine on creating a one layer card using masking and blending. I had been wanting to give it a go for a while and when I saw the sketch for this challenge I knew I had to step outside my comfort zone and have a go.

I have used the Oh, Christmas Tree Stamplorations set to create this.

Here is the sketch:

Check out the details of this challenge and all the cards from the DT here

I will enter this into:
