Inkspirational #164

Hi All,

Time for our photo challenge at Inkspirational.

Here is my card:

And the photo that inspired this card.

I was inspired by the background wood, the colours and the shape.

I used left over water colour coloured card that was by chance, a blend of orange and yellow to cut out my frame die. And a circle die that was left in my 'stash' box.

Our DT have all been inspired and created wonderful cards-check them out here

Then enjoy creating!

I will enter this into;

Time Out #112

Hi All

Time for a new challenge at Time Out Challenges.

We are challengeing you to be:

'Warm'

I immediately thought of sunshine but then deicdd to go a completely different way and thought of a warm up of tea. And what could be more refreshing than a warm cuppa on a hot day.

I have used our sponsor, CAS-ual Fridays stamp set Serendipi-tea

The winner of this challenge will get a $25 voucher to spend in their amazing store!!

Those who follow me will be thinking....no, Sandie didn't make this...but I did!
A real doily and patterned paper and most definitely not CAS. We all need to step out of our comfort zone now and then!

I actually love how this look but it may be a year or two before you see this kind of card from me again!

I sent it to a teamie at Time Out as she is a sweet beautiful friend, but I also wanted to give her a kick and a laugh when she opened it and realised it was from me!

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very creative Marieke. Her cards are amazing.
Check out her inspiring blog here

For more inspiration pop on over to Time Out and you will see some stunning cards from our GD and super Design Team.

Calling All Sistahs June Encouragement Challenge

Hi All,

I am here with our monthly Calling All Sistahs Encouragement challenge from CAS-ual Fridays. Our little bunch of Sistahs are all about raising awareness for Breast Cancer and would love you to join our monthly challenge.

What do we mean by an 'Encouragement' card? Well anything that would brighten someone's day. I am sure you have plenty of ideas of how to do this and make cards like this every time you sit down you craft. So why not share them with us?

We have a photo and some colours to inspire you. Use either the photo or the colours-you don't need to use both but can if you want.

Here I have used th CAS-ual Friday stamp set Truth Is and the matching Truth Is Bloom Dies. The sentiment is from the stamp set Pretty Posies

And here is our photo that inspired this card-I hope you can see this shape of the flowers and the colours inspired me!

Here is how you play along:

1. Make a card that will brighten someone's day inspired by the photo or colours or both.

2. Link up here by 12am EST on the 13th of June
3. Share with your friends and followers so we can get the word out about our challenge.

One person will win a $25 gift code to use on anything in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store.  All products are welcome, but if you use CAS-ual Fridays stamps or dies on your card, Michele will DOUBLE your prize!!!

My fellow Sistahs have all made amazing cards-check them out here and then get inky!

Make someone happy today with a very special card from you!

June Calling All Sistahs Reminder

Hello There,

I am here today as part of the Calling All Sistahs design team, to help raise awareness of Breast Cancer and the importance of doing that monthly self breast exam. It takes 5 mins-check out how to do that here.

Michele, owner and designer of CAS-ual Friday Stamps designed a special line of stamps and dies to help raise awareness of Breast Cancer-you can check them out here. Michele donates 50% of the profit from these to National Breast Cancer Awareness.

Here is my reminder card for this month:

I have used the stamp set Peace and Comfort stamp set here. I embossed it in gold on some scrap card that I had previously made using brushos. The frame is from STAMPlorations. I followed through the gold by actually stamping a spatter stamp with delicata ink-I find this easier to control than just splatter with watercolour!

All our Design Team have made amazing cards-check them out here.

We would love you to go shopping from this range to help us raise awareness of Breast Cancer and if you do and use the code 'cas comfort' you get a discount!

Come back tomorrow as I will be here with our monthly 'Calling All Sistahs' challenge!!

Have a super day and don't forget to put 5 mins aside to do that self exam!

Have a fun day x

Inkspirational #163

Hi All
We start a new challenge at Inkspirational today and it is Nonni who has set the challenge.

She wants us to use small stamps in our designs. The guidelines for this our:

Use small stamps to create your design -stamps smaller than 2 inch diameter. (eg coin sized) . You may use one or two large stamps (eg sentiment) but the majority of your design should be small stamps.

Here is what I came up with:

Using tiny snowdrop stamps from the set Let it Snow by Happy Little Stampers combined with a sentiment from Uniko

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Valerie-take a look at her inspiring blog here.

For more inspiration pop on over to Inkspirational and see what Valerie and the DT have created to inspire you.

Enjoy!

Help us Raise Awareness of Epilepsy!

Hi All

This is not a post for cards but one of a personal issue and one I do not usually share with too many.

However my brave niece, Chloe, has decided to step out of the shadows and make some noise to help spread awareness of Epilepsy by trekking Mount Snowdon with her Dad (my adorable Brother-Robert). She especially wants to raise awareness of the different types of epileptic seizures there are-at least 40!!

There is no cure for Epilepsy but it can be controlled in some people.

I will explain a little about our seizures before I link you to Chloe's personal story:

Many of you know I suffer from Epilepsy but so do many in my Family. We have epilepsy as a result of lesions on our brain that are inherited. These can hit any member of the Family. The lesions can grow or decrease in number and size and can bleed. For example when I started having seizures 32 years ago I had one lesions-I now have over 9. Some of these are new but some may have been there from the beginning but as technology has improved, these can now be seen.

These lesions are in different areas of the brain and so effect me in many different ways depending on which one plays up!! Unfortunately over the last 12 years drugs have not controlled my seizures.

I would love you to take a read of Chloe's story-she is far more articulate and braver than me!

If you feel you can donate we thank you so much. However what we would love it for you to share Chloe's Story with your friends and help us raise awareness of this illness and how it effects those who suffer from it.

Thank you my crafting friends for listening to me and my beautiful niece, Chloe.

xx

Inkspirational #162

Hi There

A new challenge starts today at Inkspirational .

The challenge is the prompt word:

Power

I went with the 'power of light' and used a light bulb to make a Christmas card-like a bauble with a tiny tree inside!

The light bulb, Christmas tree, Christmas tree lights and sentiment are all from Winnie and Walter and the tag is from CAS-ual Friday Stamps

Our Gusest Designer for this challenge is the very creative Angie. Her blog, Cimbacreativefun is full of inspiring projects, check it out!

Then pop over to our blog here and see what Angie and the DT have created to inspire you:
