TIME OUT Challenge #11

Hello my friends. I can't believe I haven't posted for a week but I was a little poorly then when I felt better I had quite a few DT cards that needed to be made. So I have done a little crafting and hopefully will soon be back to posting a bit more often!!

It is time for our new challenge at TIME OUT Challenges. This is our theme challenge and we are looking for projects based on:

Celebrations with the optional twist of Butterflies

I needed a Wedding card so used the Ever After STAMPlorations stamp set to create this:

This week we are very happy that we are being sponsored by STAMPlorations. Our very own DT member Shery is the designer and owner of STAMPlorations along with her hubby, David!

They are very generously offering us 2 prizes this week! Both will be random draws. One prize will be if you use any STAMPlorations Stamp set and the other if you twist along with is and use a butterfly on your project.

Lots to Celebrate here then! And our DT members have come up with some fabulous and inspiring projects for you this week. Take a look here. Our Guest Designer is Sarah G of Funky Fossils Designs. I love Sarah's cards and urge you to go and check out her fabulous blog!

Now you deserve some TIME OUT to craft and play along with us!

Time Out Reminder

Happy Friday Eve and that means over at TIME OUT Challenges we are announcing our winners, go check it out and see if you are there.
I am also here to remind you that you still have nearly a week to join in our 'Home Sweet Home Photo' challenge.

Here is my card:

I came up with the idea for this card when I saw the challenge this week at CAS on Sunday. I remembered that I had wanted to make a card for TIME OUT Challenges using the feather hanging from the tee pee in our photo here:

However for my original DT card I went for the colours and patterns but thanks to the 'Sympathy' card challenge CAS on Sunday this idea popped into my head. For some reason I think feathers seem just right on a sympathy card. I also think this sentiment is perfect at these times. I kept the card neutral but did get a bit arty by adding in my own feather lines using a white pen. I wasn't sure this would work but really like how it turned out and just added a few more once I became confident I wouldn't mess it up!

Head on over to TIME OUT Challenges as we have winners and more inspiration from other DT members to encourage you to take some TIME OUT and create with us x

More Rainbows!

This is round 2 for this post as I hadn't finished writing it earlier and then posted and deleted it...boy my brain is not in gear today!! So here goes again!

I made this card yesterday after coming across a sentiment stamp I hadn't used before. It reminded me that at Less is More this week the theme is 'Singing in the Rain'. I wanted to water colour so made this:

I did at first mask off the area to make my rainbow but after taking off the tape it just looked too uniform. So I just added more paint and water, swished about a bit and let the colours run into one another....oh I just realised I could add this to the 'run' challenge at CASology as this is exactly what I did...turned the paper all ways so that the paint would run more and be less uniform.

I will also enter it into the 'nature' challenge at The Mixed Media Challenge as I do love the texture of this paper and think it really shows up in this photo. I am sure they are fed up with me over there as I have entered so many times but I kinda like the fact that I am making CAS mixed media cards and I really thought I would never be able to do this!

Now I need to rest my brain...goodbye x

Oops....Inspiration all around again!!

I am having blogger problems this morning or really Sandie problems! I seem to have deleted my last few posts so I am having another go and so sorry if this is the second time you have seen it...just ignore it!!

First off my post for Addicted to Stamps and More. We have this photo for you:

And here is the card I made:

I loved the purple and the lay out and took inspiration from here. The sketch at CAS(E) this sketch helped with my final design. The photo at Fusion was also helped when creating this card as I got the idea to emboss my butterfly on vellum (a first for me!)-this idea came from the icing-this is also why I added brown to my card as there is brown icing on the cakes. And as I used Uniko Studio stamps I am entering this into their 'Anything Goes' challenge. And finally a CAS mixed media card with a touch of nature for the Mixed Media Challenge.

And at Addicted to Stamps and More we have QKR Stampede as our sponsors.

Now I hope I got in all I had in the first post that I deleted, now I am not sure if I have to re-add my card to these challenges but will!

Addicted to CAS #43

Hello again my CAS loving friends,

It is time for our new challenge at Addicted to CAS and this week we have the very talented Jaydee as our host and she has chosen the following code word:

What a great code word as there are so many ways to take this. I decided to go with a Birthday celebration. I have a lot of friends who have Birthdays coming up so this code word came at the right time for me.

This is only the second time I have used a sentiment die and built it up to give dimension. I have actually die cut 7 white sentiments and then added a final one cut from some glitter card. The stamps I have used here are all from STAMPlorations. They have a 'Glitter and Stamps' challenge this month so I will be entering this into their challenge. I used copics to colour some gems as I didn't have the right colours but I did have a funky pink enamel dot!
This month we have the very creative Cathy joining us as our Guest Designer and you can see what she has created for us here along with the rest of our fab DT.

And finally we are very lucky that Bugaboo Stamps are sponsoring this challenge.

Time to Celebrate and get stamping!

Inkspirational #61

It is time for a new challenge at Inkspirational. And this week it is our word prompt challenge and we have this word for you

So what does this word prompt you to create. I went a slightly different route than I had intended to go! I  was having another go at painting flowers with out using stamps with my water colour pencils. In doing this I had a happy mistake! Some of the paint splashed onto my card, I liked how it looked so splashed some more! So a slightly different take on the word but still a 'splash'.

I was inspired to make this card when I saw this video by Sanketij on her blog The Storyteller. She is amazing at painting and has some wonderful tutorials for those of us who are not so talented!

At Inkspirational our Guest Designer is the fabulous crafter Cinni. You can see what she has created for this challenge, along with the rest of our team here

Then it is time for you to splash away and have some fun!

Time Out Challenges #10

Happy Friday Eve!

It is time for our 10th challenge at Time Out Challenges. I can hardly believe we are at challenge 10! I am so pleased that we get such good support each week and thank you all for taking Time Out to join in with us! This week we have our challenge based on home interiors. We call this our 'Home Sweet Home' challenge. This week we have this photo to inspire you:

(Source Hand made Home)

There is so much in this photo I was a bit unsure of what to go with. There are lots of patterns, colours, the basket, the feathers, the arrows!! Too much to choose from. In the end I went with the colours and the use of patterns and came up with this CAS card:

The pattern stamps are from Uniko Studios and the sentiment from STAMPlorations
I think this will be used for a male Birthday and I have a few of them coming up!

This week we are very pleased that Sarah G is our Guest Designer. Her blog Funky Fossil Designs is full of inspiration and I urge you to go and check it out and sign up to follow her!

You can see her card and the fabulous projects from our DT here

Then time to kick back, get out those supplies and take some TIME OUT and join in the fun.

Inspired by many!

I have not been so well since last Sunday night and have done a lot of sleeping in the last few days and creativity seem to have escaped me! However today I was doing some blog hopping and saw this card by Bev my fellow DT member at TIME OUT challenges. I loved this card and as I had just this week received the same Butterfly stamps from Bev's Uniko Studio store, I thought I would see if my mojo was coming out to play! With a little help from a few more challenges I created this card:

I went looking for a layout and came across the card this week by Therese at the Muse Card Club challenge. I loved the one layer design of Therese's card with the flowers overlapping the sentiment. I changed the flowers for butterflies but followed the general layout. It has been ages since I played along at Muse so I am pleased that today it helped inspire me. I used the colours this week at Colour Q. I loved the combo of the colours and think they worked perfectly for my card. I love the touch of bright green sparkle I added to the butterflies.
I will also enter this into the challenge at Crazy for CAS who are this week asking for Butterflies!

Fusion Inspired!

A very Happy Sunday to you all,

I have been wanting to join in the fun at Fusion since I saw the inspiration photo but was quite stuck for ideas. I love to play along at Fusion and as I missed the last one as I was on hols I really wanted to create something for this one. I just loved the big red flowers on the dress but was also drawn to the blue and the graphic look of the stripes...so all a bit confused in my head! This afternoon I felt like doing some colouring and painting so decided to use my water colour pencils to colour a red flower. Not quite sure why I added a yellow centre but it just felt right! Artistic freedom!! I actually did watercolour around the edge in blue but it didn't end of looking how I wanted it to so I decided to fussy cut the flower out and ended up with this:

Once I had fussy cut it out I didn't know what to do with it. So still in the mood for colouring I stamped the same flower and used my copics to colour it. And, yes, my friends, that is some ribbon!! The red flower is popped up on foam pads for a little added dimension. I am not really sure how I ended up with this card, it was nothing like the graphic card I was going to make for Fusion but well, this is what I was inspired to make today. And something different from me that was fun to make!

Enjoy the rest of your day xx

Snowflakes in July!

I hope you are all having a fantastic Saturday and getting some time to craft.

I have a card today that was inspired by the sketch this week at CAS(E) this Sketch. I loved the sketch and immediately had an idea. Here is my card:

I knew I wanted to use this stamp set from Uniko Studios but was unsure about the colours. I decided to use the colours of the Uniko Studio challenge however forgot it was meant to be a Birthday card! I do like using non traditional colours for Christmas cards so decided to stick with this and add a little glitter line with a gel pen.

As this is one layer I will also enter it into CAS on Sunday-one layer wonder challenge.
And the Sweet Stampin Challenge this week is Christmas in July!
And Marina's challenge-any Christmas card goes!

Enjoy the rest of your day xx

Happy Birthday Darnell and TIME OUT reminder

I am a little late in joining in Darnell's Birthday party but better late than never! And I couldn't let her Birthday go by without making her a sunny, happy card as Darnell's posts always make me smile!

I am also using this card as a reminder that our challenge 'Fun in the Sun' at TIME OUT is still going on-you have until next Wed to join in. And today don't forget to check out our blog here to see if you are in the winning line up!

Once more the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch was used as my layout and it fitted perfectly with out 'Fun in the Sun' challenge at TIME OUT Challenges

So here is to you Darnell:

Addicted to Stamps and More #103

It is time for our Holiday Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.  You can choose any holiday you want. I am using this challenge to make Christmas cards.

I am sure many of you know by now that we have a new DT and they really are fabulous. We are now in 2 teams which means that I will be creating a card every other challenge but I will be commenting every week...you can't get rid of me that easily!

My card was inspired by this card by Kim my fellow DT member at Inkspirational. I loved this wreath stamp and ordered it the same day I saw Kim's card!

This card was so quick to make except for adding those tiny little red gems! The sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

Our DT have created some great Holiday cards to inspire you. Take a look here.

This week we are very lucky that we have QKR Stampede as our sponsors.

I will enter this into the following challenges:

Simply Create Too-Xmas in July

Time to get into the holiday spirit and play along with us!

More Rainbows and Butteflies!

Happy Tuesday all,

I finally have started crafting again after my hols! I have a card today to share that I loved making as I tried out something new to me and also got to play with my watercolours again! I was inspired to make this card when I saw the inspiration card at the new challenge The Cutting Edge. And it was actually this card by DT member Lisa that got me creating my card:

I meant to water colour rainbow colours but when I started I decided to just go with the flow and let the painting take me where it wanted me to go. I do love that about water colouring. And adding a few splashes is a lot of fun. When it was dry, I used a 'Happy' die sentiment to cut through my colours. Then.....this is the part I haven't tried before....I cut out lots of happy sentiments and glued them together to give some dimension. I so wanted to add gems or enamel dots but as I am entering this into a few die cut challenges I went with the butterfly.
I love the way this turned out and after finishing it I realised I had made another 'mixed media' card but CAS-who would have known!! (my texture is the base card as it is the egg shell card, although hard to see in the photo)

I am going to enter this into the following challenges:
The Cutting Edge Challenge-inspiration card using die cuts of some kind
AAA cards-water colour CAS cards

Happy Birthday Kylie!

Goodness,we have another Birthday in the house today!!
Today I am here to say a very Happy Birthday to my friend Kylie. Many of you know Kylie in the crafting world and will know her as the owner of Addicted to CAS and Addicted to Stamps and More. I met Kylie in the blogging world and was lucky enough to join her Design Teams. We became close in the virtual world and then met this Easter IRL when Kylie stayed with me for a week. We had a ball and now have a friendship I believe will be life long.
She is one special lady and we could not let this day go by without have a Surprise linky Birthday Party for Kylie!! You can all join in by going to Loll's blog and linking up your card there.

Here is my card I made for my very dear friend:

I tired something new to me-stamping and clear embossing the rainbow of butterflies then water colouring them in all the colours of the rainbow. I tried to be creative by just going with the flow around the edge plus adding in a few splatters. I was not so sure about it but I thought Kylie would appreciate my attempt to step outside my comfort zone!!

Well Happy Birthday Hon and who would know you had finally reached 21!!

And don't forget to join the party and link up your card here with our hostess Loll-the link is open for 2 weeks so plenty of time to party on!!

I an entering this into the new challenge The Nixed Media Card Challenge Blog. This is a surprise to me as I thought I would never be able to enter this challenge as my cards are usually not suitable. But I read the definition of a mixed media card on the blog as was very happy to see that this card met the criteria...and I have to say I feel quite proud of myself for achieving this!! The theme for this challenge is 'nature'

I will also enter this into the 'Things with Wing' challenge at Crafty Creations and the 'Follow your Rainbow' at Paper Pretties

Happy Birthday Shery!

Happy Birthday to my blogging friend Shery of One Layer Cards.

Shery is the owner of STAMPlorations blog and she actually is the designer of all these stamps. I met Shery in blogland around last Christmas and then was lucky enough to join her amazing team of designers. Shery is one of the most creative and sweet people I know in blog land.

Today we at STAMPlorations are celebrating her Birthday.

I am sharing the card I sent to Shery. It is a card I posted a while ago but had actually sent it before I went on holiday and realised we were setting up this celebration. However I have used all stamps designed by Shery!

I loved this card and thought it was perfect for Shery. I sure hope it has arrived in time for today!

And for something a little special for Shery we have 3 questions that all the DT are answering for her:

1. What is our favourite STAMPalorations set and why?
This was an easy one for me as I am a super fan of the Holiday Artsy Set because it has so many of the grungy style sets that I love.

2. What is your favorite Book or piece of writing?
I have one book that is very special to me 'The Prophet' by Kahil Gibran. The section on 'Marriage' was read by my Dad at me wedding. Apart from that anything written by Chris Carter or Simon Beckett.

3. What is my message to the Birthday Girl?
Shery, have a fun day and I hope you get to eat your fav Thai food and David is treating you like a Princess xx

TIME OUT Challenge #9

Happy Friday Eve and that means it is time for out new challenge at TIME OUT Challenges.

It is our 'Inspired by Words' challenge and this week we have this phrase for you:

FUN IN THE SUN

You can be inspired by just one of these words or by the whole phrase. I decided to for the whole phrase as it seemed appropriate as I have just returned home from my hols (as long as the flight was on time!).

To create this card I looked on the Internet for a sunset image I liked. I then masked off some watercolour paper and had a go at painting with water colour pencils my version of the sunset! I do hope I got to see lots of these sunsets on my holiday (this is a pre-scheduled post!)

I am very excited that our Guest Designer is my blogging friend Carol. We met in blog land a few months ago and have become friends and often share crafting tips and tricks. I love her style and her blog Just Me:c is full of inspiration and crafty excellence.

Our DT have made some wonderful projects all inspired by 'Fun in the Sun'. Take a look at these at our main TIME OUT Challenge blog.

You have nearly 2 weeks to join in the fun and if you are a winner you will be asked to join us as a future Guest Designer.

Now take some TIME OUT and get crafting!!
