Distress and more Distress!

A very happy Monday,

I had an idea for the 'distress' challenge at CASology last week when my laptop was driving me mad. I wanted to pick it up and smash it against the wall. I know you all know this feeling. What do you do when the computer is playing up....press control, alt, delete and cross your fingers! I was very distressed. Light bulb moment which led to creating this card using the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch for my layout. If you have time and want a giggle carry on reading after seeing my card to see how distressed I really got making this card!!

The stamps are from CASual Fridays and inside the card I have used from the same set 'we all need a re-boot'. It will be a fun card for someone going into hospital for a minor op, to make them smile. I made a stencil after die cutting my splash die and just sponged with distress ink.

Now for the story behind the card:

Once I had the idea, this was meant to be a quick and easy CAS card-no. I got the stamps out and had a play so I knew where I wanted to position them. As I came to stamp them, I had lost the 'Ctrl' stamp. I looked everywhere for it-under the table, the bed, in every drawer. I was getting more and more distressed. And where was it-stuck to the 'delete' stamp. It took me over 30 mins to find.

While I was making the card I decided to run a bath and by the time I had finished the card the bath was freezing, so no bath.

There are a few other things that happened that made me more distressed making this but I won't bore you.

Today they seem funny and I like the card but yesterday I really was distressed with a card that should have taken me 5 mins!

Enjoy your day x

CAS(E) this Sketch

I hope you are all having a fun Sunday,

Last week I was not in a crafty mood and didn't make any cards for a week. I had a little 'virtual' chat with blogging friend Joyce and she suggested a few little tips to get my mojo working. I took said advice and have been on a roll since. I have been making mainly future DT cards but today made this card inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I wanted to do and it worked first time!

I used my splatter die again. I used it as a stencil first with distress ink and then cut the splatter out with glitter card. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations

Here is the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch

I will also enter this into the CAS challenge at STAMPlorations going with the twist of silver.

Enjoy the rest of your day x

It's Clear!

Hi All

Yesterday afternoon I had a light-bulb moment and made this card:

I loved the cue word at CASology this week-Clear-and was going to use acetate to make a card. Then I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and 'light-bulb' moment!

Light bulbs are clear (in the main) IRL but I wanted to go bright!

I flipped the sketch.

I used a set from Lawn Fawn and wplus9 to make this, mixing up sentiments from both.
I loved stamping the light bulbs in rainbow colours and thought it really complimented the sentiment.

Have a bright day x

Hello!

Hello my friends

On Sunday I posted this card using a new splatter die. For my card today I used the negative die as a stencil and made this card:

I used lilac and grey inks to sponge through the die and kept moving the die around so I could get the splatters at the top of the card. Just added a few sequins to finish off.

I based my lay out on the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and used the colours from Cupcake Inspirations.
I will also enter it onto:
Pile it on-use something on your card that is from your first initial-I used sequins.

Have a fun day x

You are Amazing

Hello All

My card today is for a very special person who has to go into hospital soon. I wanted to make a card to remind them how amazing they are. I wanted to hopefully make them smile so have made it with sunny colours and WOS to add some sparkle.

I based this on the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch

I will also enter this into:

AAA cards-glitter-my flower is all glittery IRL as it is covered in WOS

Ho Ho Ho!

A very Happy Monday,

One week closer to Christmas!

The middle of last week I was being all smug thinking I had finished making all my Christmas cards. Then as I started addressing them I kept remembering people I had not added to my list.

CAS(E) the Sketch came to the rescue on Thursday with a fabulous sketch. And Michelle's card here gave me an idea to create this card:

Last year this was my favourite colour combo for Christmas and I don't think I have used it this year. I still love it so I am pleased I finally got to ink up these colours.

So are you finished with the Christmas cards yet?
I will enter this into Uniko-Christmas with option of CAS

More Butterflies!

There are quite a few challenges at the moment that are inspiring me to craft. I doubt I will get time to play along with them all. Today is a card I made that was inspired by combining 3 challenges.

I have again used my new Birthday Butterfly stamp from Happy Little Stampers. This time I embossed it on vellum-inspired by the 'Vellum' challenge at Just Us Girls. I then stamped it onto cork and fussy cut it out. I decided to do this after seeing the inspiration photo at Just Add Ink (see below)-I liked the earthy colours and textures in the photo. The lay out is from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch-I had forgotten I had this sweet embossing line. I will be using it more often as I think it is great for CAS designs.

Enjoy your day x

CASology Guest Designer

Hello All,

I am very excited that today I am the Guest Designer at CASology. I was honoured to be asked and then slightly worried that I would not have an idea of what to create when I got the cue word. Here it is:

I was lucky in that I immediately thought what was 'precious' to me and what popped into my head was 'Family'. Using the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and this NBUS visable image stamp I made this card.

How will you interpret this word?

Pop over here and see what the DT have created and then join in the fun-can't wait to see what you come up with.

Time Out Reminder

Happy Friday Eve,

Have you joined in our latest challenge at Time Our Challenges?

It is our CASE challenge.

Here is my card using the latest sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.

This is a CASE of Alice's card here:

I picked out the kraft and pops of red.

I used all Uniko stamps for this and had originally built up a die cut with glossy accents but over night it fell out and I decided I preferred with just the kraft. Plus I now have a glossy 'love' die cut to use at another time!

Our Guest Designer this week is Rema. Her cards are always so inspiring, check them out here

Then kick back and take some time out to craft with us at Time Out Challenges

Santa is Coming to Town!

Hello All

Today I have a one layer Christmas card for you that was inspired by the sketch this week at CAS(E) this sketch. I had an idea for this sketch and was looking for the dies I wanted to use but came across a Casual Fridays stamp I haven't used for a while and the sentiment just looked perfect for this sketch. See what you think:

All the star stamps are from different Uniko sets

I will also enter this into the challenge at One Layer Christmas Card

Here is the sketch:

Celebrate May!

Welcome to May!

I made a card last night inspired by a few challenges.

First the card:

I was browsing blogland and came across this dramatic and stunning dress at Runway Inspired Challenge

Wouldn't you just love to wear this?

This dress reminded me that at Addicted to CAS the code words are black, white and gold.

I then saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and was inspired by Leigh's use of vellum, check it out here

With all this inspiration...crafting I went!

Enjoy the first day of May!

Happy Birthday Monika!

A very Happy Monday,

The lovely Monika is having a Birthday linky party to celebrate her Birthday and I am here with a card for this party. I wanted to make a card with a butterfly-a CAS card that was a nod to her card at the bottom of this page and here it is:

I got the idea for the colour combo from the latest challenge photo at Fusion-I was attracted by the red, blue and silver. I stamped up the butterfly with red in the centre then the blue. I added clear embossing ink around the edges of the stamp and randomly in the centre (my clear ink pad is now blue and red!) and then heat embossed the stamp. I like how this turned out. I tried to pick out the red by heat embossing in red on vellum.

I followed the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.

I hope you like your card Monika-if you want to join in her party just link up here

Fun with Balloons!

A very Happy day to you all!

I have been doing quite a lot of water colouring recently-more cards to show you next week!

After doing all this water colouring I was in the mood for a 'stamp and go' card. A quick stamp and off I go!

I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and decided it was all the inspiration I needed to 'stamp and go'

A quick one layer card using different shades of green so I could enter the 'green' challenge at Addicted to CAS

Even the masking was quick and easy. This was fun to make and I think I need to make a few more 'stamp and go' cards as I feel I need more of a fix!!

All these stamps are from Uniko-check out our latest 'Anything Goes' challenge here-you can use any stamp not just Uniko stamps and lots of prizes up for grabs.

Also this card could be entered into our 'CAS' challenge at Time Out-check it out here-CAS-ual Fridays Stamps to be won here.

Here are the 2 challenges I will enter my card into

This makes me happy!

A very Happy March to you all,

My card today is my first go at using an inlaid die. I am late to the game here and have been meaning to give it a go for a while and now I have, so I am happy!

I need some more practise with this!

This card was inspired by this card here made by Leigh for this week's challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch. I loved how she slotted in different colours and it took me a while to work out how to do this. It meant cutting out a number of dies and a lot of fiddling but I got there in the end.

I had been thinking about making this card for a few days and then when I saw the photo at Just Us Girls with the big sentiment I decided I had to get down to it!

I am also going to enter this into the 'This makes me happy' challenge at Less is More as I am a bit happy with myself for conquering an inlaid die! I am hoping to get another chance to enter LIM with a 'stamp and go CAS card' as these are the ones that make my heart sing...quick easy, a stamp and some ink, we will see how the week goes!

Awesome

Another week begins!

I am here to share with you a card inspired by a few challenges:

Awesome stamp from CAS-ual Fridays

The layout was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. I actually got the idea when I saw a few cards on STAMPlorrations-CASE a card. I combined a CASE of Deepti and Maria's cards that you can see here

This card is on its way to a friend who is very much loved and therefore I am entering into the 'One Layer Love Card' challenge at Less is More and the 'Love' challenge at CASology

First Christmas card for 2015!

Hello again,

I don't usually post 2 cards in one day but I was just about to schedule this post for tomorrow when I realised that Merry Monday Christmas Challenge closes today!

So here I am again with my first Christmas card for 2015

I have been wanting to enter the new One Layer Christmas Card Challenge all week but wasn't getting any new ideas. So yesterday browsed some other Xmas card challenges and saw this photo at Merry Monday-snowflakes

I used the sketch at CAS(E) this sketch using masking to create the centre panel and 3 different Uniko stamp sets (Big and Bold-SNOW, Background builder-Christmas and Stunning snowflakes).

I am also going to enter this into the 'new beginnings', one layer challenge at Less is More-this is the beginning of my Xmas card makes for 2015!
