Let's Dance!

Hi There,

This afternoon I saw the new challenge at CASology-Fun, and an idea popped into my head. I had been thinking of the 'Exotic' challenge at Less is More and the Silhouette challenge at Addicted to CAS for a few days as I wanted to enter both. It wasn't until I saw the 'Fun' challenge that the idea for this idea card came to me. Weird how this happens but great when it does!

This is what I came up with:

The background is made out of brushos and just looks like the most exotic sunset. What could be more fun than dancing the Tango at sunset. The idea came to me quickly but it took me ages to decide what colour panels to put the card onto. I tried lots of ideas and finally came across this cream coloured card that I rarely use as it looks a bit to yellow to me but it seem to go perfectly with the brusho background.

The sentiment is from PTI and the silhouette is from STAMPlorations.

My sister is a superb dancer and this card is going to her.

Have a good day my friends x

I will enter this into:

STAMPloration CAS-gold-could my sunset be golden-if not I go with no twist.

Distress and more Distress!

A very happy Monday,

I had an idea for the 'distress' challenge at CASology last week when my laptop was driving me mad. I wanted to pick it up and smash it against the wall. I know you all know this feeling. What do you do when the computer is playing up....press control, alt, delete and cross your fingers! I was very distressed. Light bulb moment which led to creating this card using the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch for my layout. If you have time and want a giggle carry on reading after seeing my card to see how distressed I really got making this card!!

The stamps are from CASual Fridays and inside the card I have used from the same set 'we all need a re-boot'. It will be a fun card for someone going into hospital for a minor op, to make them smile. I made a stencil after die cutting my splash die and just sponged with distress ink.

Now for the story behind the card:

Once I had the idea, this was meant to be a quick and easy CAS card-no. I got the stamps out and had a play so I knew where I wanted to position them. As I came to stamp them, I had lost the 'Ctrl' stamp. I looked everywhere for it-under the table, the bed, in every drawer. I was getting more and more distressed. And where was it-stuck to the 'delete' stamp. It took me over 30 mins to find.

While I was making the card I decided to run a bath and by the time I had finished the card the bath was freezing, so no bath.

There are a few other things that happened that made me more distressed making this but I won't bore you.

Today they seem funny and I like the card but yesterday I really was distressed with a card that should have taken me 5 mins!

Enjoy your day x

Less is More and CASology

Hi There,

Popping in with a card I made this evening inspired by 2 challenges:

Less is More-white on white-Happy 5th Birthday
CASology-glitter

Sorry about the shadows but it is dark now and I needed to photo tonight as tomorrow I have posts already scheduled and I didn't want to miss CASology.

I used glitter white card to die cut the bow tie. Then to add some interest and texture I die cut a stitched rectangle die and linen embossed the base card. I added dimension by using foam pads. I do like white on white and adding texture and dimension I think really helps.

Enjoy your Sunday x

We'd love you to display our banner

It's Clear!

Hi All

Yesterday afternoon I had a light-bulb moment and made this card:

I loved the cue word at CASology this week-Clear-and was going to use acetate to make a card. Then I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and 'light-bulb' moment!

Light bulbs are clear (in the main) IRL but I wanted to go bright!

I flipped the sketch.

I used a set from Lawn Fawn and wplus9 to make this, mixing up sentiments from both.
I loved stamping the light bulbs in rainbow colours and thought it really complimented the sentiment.

Have a bright day x

Love!

Hello All,

I am starting the week with LOVE!

Here is my card inspired by a few challenges:

This was inspired by:

The Curtain Call-something girly. I picked up on the gold, black and pinks in the photo and all us girls love hearts!
Sunday Stamps-I used their sketch as my layout. DT member Teresa's card  really inspired me.
Paper Players-CAS Valentine
CASology-open-my heart die is open, I am sure we all have open hearts!

One die, 3 cards in a row!

Hello All

Today I have another card using the left over die stash from this card.
Yesterday I used the let over white card from this die as a stencil and today I have used the left over glitter negative die to create this:

I had this lying on my craft desk. I was browsing blogland and saw the new challenge at CASology where the cue word is 'OPEN'. Quite a few of the DT had used negative dies to interpret the word. So I took a leaf from their book.I also thought this splatter die was like when someone or thing was bursting out into the world!

This Uniko sentiment has really come in useful to match up with this die.

So 3 cards from cutting up this die!

I will enter this into:

CASology-open
AAA cards-glitter

The Little Things

A very Happy Weekend to all,

I am popping in today with a very CAS card.

The idea of this card popped into my head when I saw the challenge this week at CASology. The cue word 'Simple' reminded me of this sentiment I have used before (STAMPlorations)

It is the simple things in life that we often forget to cherish-our family and friends being right at the top of the list! This is why I added these hearts-3 heart dies stuck together and then coloured with pale blue. I liked the dimension this added. The hearts were a gift from Darnell-thank you Darnell x

I used the colours at colourq. Loved this colour combo and used SU crumb cake for my kraft. The 'cherish' has been heat embossed with 'melon mambo' embossing powder.

I will also enter this in to STAMPlorations CAS challenge-anything goes with option of silver

Have a fun weekend x

The Science of Dreams

Hello there,

Over the last few days there have been some really inspiring challenges that I have wanted to join in and then today up pops the latest challenge from CASology and I had a light bulb moment...and combined 3 of these challenges.

Here is my card:

Did you know the 'Science of Dreams' is called 'Oneirology'? When I saw the 'Science' challenge at CASology I googled 'types of sciences' and a huge list came up. On the list was the 'Science of Dreams'.

Light bulb moment...combine the 'dream' challenge at Addicted to CAS with CASology plus the 'word play' challenge at AAA cards. I love cards that focus on the sentiment so the AAA challenge was on my list.

I do love this sentiment. It is an old Verve sentiment and I just did some masking so I could emphasis the 'dream' part of it. Added a few hearts from Uniko and linen embossed to give me a one layer CAS card.

I will also enter this into the Geek Chic challenge at The City Crafter

Have a dreamy day x

CASology Guest Designer

Hello All,

I am very excited that today I am the Guest Designer at CASology. I was honoured to be asked and then slightly worried that I would not have an idea of what to create when I got the cue word. Here it is:

I was lucky in that I immediately thought what was 'precious' to me and what popped into my head was 'Family'. Using the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and this NBUS visable image stamp I made this card.

How will you interpret this word?

Pop over here and see what the DT have created and then join in the fun-can't wait to see what you come up with.

Home Again!

Hello my blogging friends,

My holiday was wonderful, sun and more sun. The total relaxation I was looking for. I may not have been commenting on your cards as I usually do but am slowly getting back into action.

I am doing Deepti's water colouring class here and was just about to jump into the next lesson when I saw the prompt word at CASology-Line-an idea immediately popped into my head. I knew the stamps I wanted to use and here is what I came up with:

The heart and sentiment stamps are both from Paper Smooches. I just added my own life line with a red pen and ruler. I then had to use a couple of my fav crafting tools-linen embossing plate and the corner chomper...crafting fix done!!

I am also going to enter this into the 'chevron' challenge at Addicted to CAS and the colour challenge at Uniko-black and white with a splash of colour.

Create without Fear

It's not often I post twice in one day but the rest of the week is the new release at Uniko so I will be here everyday showing off some sneak peeks.

My card here was inspired by the 'shape' challenge at CASology. When I saw this cue card I was going to go along the geometric line but before I did I pulled out the dictionary and looked up 'shape' and there was the verb-'to shape' with the alternatives 'to mould' and 'to create' Why hadn't I thought of that-good old dictionary to the rescue!

With this in mind I came up with:

Before I made this I looked up a colour combo and came across the monochromatic crisp cantaloupe challenge at  Colour Me. I also based my layout on the sketch at retro sketches-this is a very CAS version however it was this sketch I had in mind when making this card.

I will also enter this into the following challenges:

STAMPlorations-anything goes-the sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

See you tomorrow.

Time Out Challenges #28

Hello All,

This week at Time Out Challenges our challenge is:

'CASE with your own twist'

This week we are CASEing one of my favourite designers Kim. Her blog is Art Keeps Me Sane and I urge you to pop on over there as her cards are always inspiring and her posts full of fun. I love to visit regularly and always come away ready to create.

Here is my CASE of Kim's card:

I have followed the lay out of Kim's card using masking to create the flower border. My twist was to go with a white base rather than a coloured one, make mine a one layer card and not to colour but to just stamp.

Here is Kim's card:

Isn't it fabulous!

As it is Easter we have prizes. No, not chocolate but crafting goodies from our very special sponsor Clearly Besotted Stamps (Kim has used their stamps on her card). The winner of this challenge will get a £20 gift voucher to spend in their store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Claire. Check out her blog Life on the Scrap Heap -you will be inspired!

You can see what ..... and our DT have created here

Time to...take some TIME OUT and join in the fun!

I would like to join in the celebrations at The Challenge who are having a 1 year Anniversary
 bash!

And the 'Spring' challenge at CASology
And 'Easter Colours' at AAA cards
