Time Out #117

Hi All

Time for another challenge at Time Out Challenges.
It is our 'Inspired by Words' challenge and the words are:

You can use any of these words, and there are plenty there to play with! Or perhaps the whole phrase means something to you-and if so-use them all!

I just went with 'grateful' and made this card:

My flower is from our super Sponsors Uniko and it is from the set Just Because. The sentiment is from their set Paradise-Humming Bird

The amazing Design Team have all used different words and you can check them out here

You have until 5pm BST on 12th September to play along.

Enjoy!

Inkspirational #168

O.K so how did I get to this card from the word snap?......

I pondered on this for weeks and then thought you 'snap' when you loose your temper or get angry. And what is a good thing to do to help you not to 'snap'....breathe and count to 10! Or if you do 'snap' then to calm yourself down.....breathe!!.....just like in a yoga or mediation class!

And why red and blue....the red colour of anger moving to the cool, calming colour of blue!

A 'CAS' card yes, but I promise you, a lot of thought went into its creation!!

Plus when I showed it to hubby to see if he could tell me how I went from snap to this card-he said the cut/torn part was like I had snapped the card.....nope I didn't see this until he mentioned it!!

I used the stamp set 'Breathe' from CAS-ual Fridays

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Cathy. I have admired Cathy's creative and inspiring cards for many years now and am delighted she is joining us-take a look at her blog here

Then pop back to see what Cathy and the DT have made for you here

Enjoy!

I m going to add this to:

CASology-Sports-it is the perfect expression for 'Yoga'...going from that feeling of being stressed to the relation you feel as you breathe into a stretch and after a class!!

Monday 20 August 2018

Finally I created!

A happy Monday to you all!

I know you have seen some posts from me but they were all cards made a while ago. Then yesterday my friend Nonni asked me how I had made a card I sent her. I couldn't remember! So after looking it up, I thought that was fun to make....lets see if I can do it again!! So thank you Nonni for inspiring me to actually make my first card in weeks!

Here it is:

I had a look around for some challenges and found the sketch at CAS(E) this sketch to give me the layout. I used the sketch to make the background using the watercolours in brush stokes following the sketch. I liked my arty take on the sketch.

The colours I got from Just Us Girls. I didn't have the right green in watercolours but mixed a green I did have with a green brusho colour and thought it worked.

I used the open Concord and 9th butterfly so you can see the background. The butterfly is covered on Wink of Stella and really dies sparkle.

If you are interested how I did this.....you watercolour your background card in the colours you want and leave to dry. Then watercolour another card in the same colours but in the opposite order. This way when you die cut the butterfly and place it on the background there will be a contrast in colours-here you see the green of the butterfly is over the blue background and the blue is over the green background!

This was relaxing and fun to make.

Have a fun day x

One Layer Cards

Hi All

None of us like to make Sympathy cards but now and then we need them
They are the hardest cards to make and my heart is always heavy when doing this.

Here is one I made recently.

This flower stamp is from Uniko.
The sentiment is one I always think works so well for sympathy cards as I hope it helps the recipient to remember the happy times.
I just rounded off the edge as it seemed to flow with the flower.

Hard to make but sometimes we need to.

Calling All Sistahs August Challenge-Not All Cancers Is Pink

Hi Sistahs,
I am here with our monthly Calling All Sistahs Encouragement challenge from CAS-ual Fridays. Our little bunch of Sistahs are all about raising awareness for Breast Cancer and would love you to join our monthly challenge.

This month we are doing something a little different and trying to raise awareness for all types of cancer-our graphic below shows you all the different colours that are used to support different types of cancer. So this month we want to spread our wings a little wider and include raising awareness for all cancers and we hope you will join us.

What do we mean by an 'Encouragement' card? Well anything that would brighten someone's day. I am sure you have plenty of ideas of how to do this and make cards like this every time you sit down you craft. So why not share them with us?

We have a photo and some colours to inspire you. Use either the photo or the colours-you don't need to use both but can if you want.

Here is the card I made for this challenge and you will see below why I went with these colours:

I decided to use the slash stamp from the CAS-ual Friday 'Breathe' stamp set in all the different colours that represent cancers that some of my loved ones have been effected by-the graphic below shows you what these are.

I die cut from this stamped card a ribbon using the Ruffled Ribbon Die. Popped this up on some foam that I had also cut with this die.
I finished the card by die cutting the sentiment from the Hope Fri-Die

Here is how you play along:

1. Make a card that will brighten someone's day inspired by the photo or colours or both.

2. Link up here by 12am EST on the 13th of June
3. Share with your friends and followers so we can get the word out about our challenge.

One person will win a $25 gift code to use on anything in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store.  All products are welcome, but if you use CAS-ual Fridays stamps or dies on your card, Michele will DOUBLE your prize!!!

My fellow Sistahs have all made amazing cards-check them out here and then get inky!

Make someone happy today with a very special card from you!

Can't wait to see your cards!

Enjoy xx

Calling All Sistahs August Reminder

Hi There Sistahs,

I am here today as part of the Calling All Sistahs design team, to help raise awareness of Breast Cancer and the importance of doing that monthly self breast exam. It takes 5 mins-check out how to do that here.

Michele, owner and designer of CAS-ual Friday Stamps designed a special line of stamps and dies to help raise awareness of Breast Cancer-you can check them out here. Michele donates 50% of the profit from these to National Breast Cancer Awareness.

Here is my reminder card for this month:

I white heat embossed Full on Floral Background Stamp on pink card. Then die cut from this the Ruffled Ribbon die. Set this aside and then used the same die to cut out the ribbon in grey fun foam. I layered these ribbons up, slightly off centre and added a grey strip of card and pearl so you could see the ribbon better. A few extra pearls were added for decoration.

All our Design Team have made amazing cards-check them out here.

We would love you to go shopping from this range to help us raise awareness of Breast Cancer and if you do and use the code 'cas comfort' you get a discount!

Come back tomorrow as I will be here with our monthly 'Calling All Sistahs' challenge!!

Have a super day and don't forget to put 5 mins aside to do that self exam!

Have a fun day x

Sunbeams!

Hi All

I haven't been crafting much over the last few weeks as my craft area is super hot and I just can't bear to go into it!
But this morning I couldn't sleep so made a few cards at 4am....crazy I know! But it was cool and I felt like doing a bit of my fav kind of cards...what I call 'stamp and go'!

I have one to share with you today:

This sun beam stamp is actually a snowflake stamp from Visbile Images. But I think it makes a great sunshine stamp.

The sentiment is from Concord and 9th

I made this for the current challenge at CASology-Sunbeams

Have a good week.

Guest Designer at AAA Cards-Friendship

Hi All

Today I am very excited to be the Guest Designer at AAA Cards. It is a real honour to be joining such an amazing bunch of designers.

The challenge is to make a 'Clean and Simple' card with the theme of 'Friendship'

Here is mine:

Now I am looking at it, I seem to need sunglasses!

I needed a masculine card and thought this would work a treat! I really wanted to make the most clean and simple card I could!!

I die cut the sentiment from STAMPlorations once in the black and white paper and once in black foam and layered them up. I added the black strip at the bottom to balance out the card.

The Design Team have all made amazong cards-pop over to the blog here and check them out.

Thank you AAA for asking me to join you-you know I love CAS and am delighted to be with you for this challenge x
