Butterfly Birthday!

Hello All,

My card today has been spinning in my head for a few days and this morning I actually got around to creating it:

Happy Little Stampers  are CASEing Joyce's card (see below) this month. I loved her card and wanted to give it a go. I also really wanted to join in the 'white space but not white' challenge at Less is More. I love to use coloured base cards so was really hoping I had chance to play.

I started off by cutting the stitched panel then kept this flat using sticky tape. I then heat embossed the Butterfly Birthday  stamp across this and the base card. I coloured in the centre part and decided to heat emboss this stamp again on vellum, coloured the back side of the vellum and attached it to the card. I wanted to make it a bit different from Joyce's card by adding the vellum. The sentiment is from the same set and heat embossed again. I then popped up the centre panel.

I would also like to enter this into the new challenge Creative with Stamps-Butterfly. This challenge just opened and is run by the lovely Monika and Lilian (good luck ladies)

Here is Joyce's amazing card:

This was a fun card to make and involved more steps than I am used to but I am pleased with the overall CAS look and was so pleased to get to use a coloured base.

Thanks Joyce for the inspiration

I will also enter this into the Anything Goes challenge at Happy Little Stampers

  21. I'm usually not happy with my cards made after several days thinking, they rarely end up looking like I envisioned. More happy with cards that just come together randomly as I craft. But this looks stunning, great idea that came out so right, original and classy!
