Hi All
I finally got around to playing along in the Twofer Card Challenge #5 Butterflies.
The main stamp set I used is STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies 2
I have used a Birthday card and a 'sending hugs' card-I guess the occasion for this would be 'friend who needs a hug'. And we all need them!
I went with the biggest butterfly stamp in this set.
These are going to enter into this Twofer Card Challenge
My first card I have heat embossed the butterlfy in copper then delicately watercoloured using this teal colour-the closest I could mix the colours to the base card. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers-Especially for you. This has also been heat embossed in copper. Both sentiment and the water colour card are popped up for dimension.
This card I will enter into:
My second card here uses the same butterfly stamp from STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies 2 and the sentiment is from STAMPlorations Fond Expressions
I was inspired by the photo below at Inspired By All The Little Things (see below). I went with the feather on the bottom right with the burgundy, pink and orange colours. I white heat embossed the butterfly then did some water colouring trying to follow the colours of this feather. The sentiment was also heat embossed using pink powder.
This card I will enter into Inspired By All The Little Things

ReplyDeleteA delicious twofer, Sandie! The striking copper butterfly is fantastic with the teal ... such a great contrast to the soft watercolouring! What a lovely flutter of butterflies on your second card ... your wash of colour over the white embossed outlines is just dreamy! I'm delighted you had chance to play along with us at Twofer ... thanks so much! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteOne perfectly and strictly CAs and one colorful and artsy. Totally different and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Twofer, Sandie! I love that copper color that really shows off the details of that butterfly. The gorgeous wash of pink and orange is mesmerizing with your white embossed butterflies! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Sandie, I especially love the smooshed background of the 2nd card. I don't know why but it makes me think of candy... luckily I don't eat candy! Hugs, Gwendolyn
ReplyDeleteTwo real beauties, Sandie! What a great spark that feather made for your imagination in your second card! It is stunning in design and color! And your first card stole my heart with the copper and turquoise ~ one of my favorite color loves! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #5! A special hug back to you! Darnell

ReplyDeleteTwo amazing cards using this beautiful butterfly. I especially love the hugs-card: the soft background you created has such a beautiful flow of color and feel of movement too -perfect for the fluttering butterflies.
