Addicted to CAS #44

We are getting all sparkly at Addicted to CAS as our super talented host Deepti has chosen the following code word:

And I decided to go with the same layout as my cad earlier today but with a few twists:

I have heat embossed the butterfly then spritz it with gold shimmer, fussy cut it out. I decided that the shimmer didn't look gold enough so I fussy cut the butterfly again in some gold glitter card.

Our Guest Designer this month is the very creative Lyndal and her blog Ideas and Paper is a must see!

Plus for this challenge we are so pleased that Stamp Art Designs are our sponsors. Visit their amazing store here

And yet again our DT have come up with some wonderful CAS projects to inspire you to get all sparkly with us. Check then out here.

I will enter this into the 'Anything Goes' challenge at Uniko Studios as my butterfly is one of their stamps!

Inkspirational #62

This week at Inkspirational one of our DT chooses the challenge. And this week it is Nonni's turn. And she is challenging us all to create a project using markers or pencils.

Nonni is an expert in colouring using copics which you will see if you visit her inspiring blog korttikarkuri. I was going to use my water colour pencils but some how ended up embossing this gorgeous butterfly stamp from Uniko Studios. I coloured just some areas with a green sparkle jelly roll marker. I couldn't seem to get a good enough photo to show the sparkle but hope you get the idea.

I have used very minimal colouring but it is there! If you check out our blog here you will see some wonderful projects from our DT.

Our Guest Designer this week is the superbly talented Greta.

I will enter this into the 'Anything Goes' challenge at Uniko Studios and the Summer Theme/colours at the Butterfly Chaalenge-here in London with have lots of storms in Summer but they are followed by the most gorgeous rainbows!

Then get those markers and pencils out and join in the fun!

TIME OUT Challenge #11

Hello my friends. I can't believe I haven't posted for a week but I was a little poorly then when I felt better I had quite a few DT cards that needed to be made. So I have done a little crafting and hopefully will soon be back to posting a bit more often!!

It is time for our new challenge at TIME OUT Challenges. This is our theme challenge and we are looking for projects based on:

Celebrations with the optional twist of Butterflies

I needed a Wedding card so used the Ever After STAMPlorations stamp set to create this:

This week we are very happy that we are being sponsored by STAMPlorations. Our very own DT member Shery is the designer and owner of STAMPlorations along with her hubby, David!

They are very generously offering us 2 prizes this week! Both will be random draws. One prize will be if you use any STAMPlorations Stamp set and the other if you twist along with is and use a butterfly on your project.

Lots to Celebrate here then! And our DT members have come up with some fabulous and inspiring projects for you this week. Take a look here. Our Guest Designer is Sarah G of Funky Fossils Designs. I love Sarah's cards and urge you to go and check out her fabulous blog!

Now you deserve some TIME OUT to craft and play along with us!

Time Out Reminder

Happy Friday Eve and that means over at TIME OUT Challenges we are announcing our winners, go check it out and see if you are there.
I am also here to remind you that you still have nearly a week to join in our 'Home Sweet Home Photo' challenge.

Here is my card:

I came up with the idea for this card when I saw the challenge this week at CAS on Sunday. I remembered that I had wanted to make a card for TIME OUT Challenges using the feather hanging from the tee pee in our photo here:

However for my original DT card I went for the colours and patterns but thanks to the 'Sympathy' card challenge CAS on Sunday this idea popped into my head. For some reason I think feathers seem just right on a sympathy card. I also think this sentiment is perfect at these times. I kept the card neutral but did get a bit arty by adding in my own feather lines using a white pen. I wasn't sure this would work but really like how it turned out and just added a few more once I became confident I wouldn't mess it up!

Head on over to TIME OUT Challenges as we have winners and more inspiration from other DT members to encourage you to take some TIME OUT and create with us x

More Rainbows!

This is round 2 for this post as I hadn't finished writing it earlier and then posted and deleted it...boy my brain is not in gear today!! So here goes again!

I made this card yesterday after coming across a sentiment stamp I hadn't used before. It reminded me that at Less is More this week the theme is 'Singing in the Rain'. I wanted to water colour so made this:

I did at first mask off the area to make my rainbow but after taking off the tape it just looked too uniform. So I just added more paint and water, swished about a bit and let the colours run into one another....oh I just realised I could add this to the 'run' challenge at CASology as this is exactly what I did...turned the paper all ways so that the paint would run more and be less uniform.

I will also enter it into the 'nature' challenge at The Mixed Media Challenge as I do love the texture of this paper and think it really shows up in this photo. I am sure they are fed up with me over there as I have entered so many times but I kinda like the fact that I am making CAS mixed media cards and I really thought I would never be able to do this!

Now I need to rest my brain...goodbye x

Oops....Inspiration all around again!!

I am having blogger problems this morning or really Sandie problems! I seem to have deleted my last few posts so I am having another go and so sorry if this is the second time you have seen it...just ignore it!!

First off my post for Addicted to Stamps and More. We have this photo for you:

And here is the card I made:

I loved the purple and the lay out and took inspiration from here. The sketch at CAS(E) this sketch helped with my final design. The photo at Fusion was also helped when creating this card as I got the idea to emboss my butterfly on vellum (a first for me!)-this idea came from the icing-this is also why I added brown to my card as there is brown icing on the cakes. And as I used Uniko Studio stamps I am entering this into their 'Anything Goes' challenge. And finally a CAS mixed media card with a touch of nature for the Mixed Media Challenge.

And at Addicted to Stamps and More we have QKR Stampede as our sponsors.

Now I hope I got in all I had in the first post that I deleted, now I am not sure if I have to re-add my card to these challenges but will!

Addicted to CAS #43

Hello again my CAS loving friends,

It is time for our new challenge at Addicted to CAS and this week we have the very talented Jaydee as our host and she has chosen the following code word:

What a great code word as there are so many ways to take this. I decided to go with a Birthday celebration. I have a lot of friends who have Birthdays coming up so this code word came at the right time for me.

This is only the second time I have used a sentiment die and built it up to give dimension. I have actually die cut 7 white sentiments and then added a final one cut from some glitter card. The stamps I have used here are all from STAMPlorations. They have a 'Glitter and Stamps' challenge this month so I will be entering this into their challenge. I used copics to colour some gems as I didn't have the right colours but I did have a funky pink enamel dot!
This month we have the very creative Cathy joining us as our Guest Designer and you can see what she has created for us here along with the rest of our fab DT.

And finally we are very lucky that Bugaboo Stamps are sponsoring this challenge.

Time to Celebrate and get stamping!
