Inkspirational #26

Happy Saturday my crafting friends,

Today I am here with the 'weekend warrior' post for Inkspirational. That is my DT post to hopefully inspire you to join in the fun!
This week we have this sketch for you:

I did try out a few different framelits for this but the CAS girl in me just kept wanting me to simplify the sketch! I remembered an old PTI stamp that is in the shape of the sketch and used this to CAS the sketch. So here is my Xmas card using this sketch:

I heat embossed the stamp with cherry cobbler but I mustn't have heated it enough as the powder came off of one of the ends. However, a few gems solved this problem for me!

Now it is your turn, you have until 6pm Tuesday CST to join in and this month you could be the lucky winner of 3 digis from our sponsor Milk N Coffee.
For more inspiration pop over to our site here and see what the rest of the DT have created to inspire you.
Happy Stamping! x

Addicted to Stamps and More #51

Today at Addicted to Stamps and More our challenge is 'Anything Goes'. That means your creativity can have a free run!

I decided to use this challenge to make a Xmas card that my Mum had requested I make after seeing this Birthday card. She wanted me to make something similar but for Christmas. I am not so keen on repeating cards so this challenge gave me the little push I needed. And this is what I came up with:

I decided to go the make my cityscape red instead of black and have added a little line of glitter on the bottom to represent snow. I went for red twine and a bow, but the card seemed to need more. I added a single line to black and white twine and that filled the gap! And a few added gems to finish off the card. I also did another one similar to this but with snowflakes in the sky and different colours-forgot to take a photo though! So Mum's request granted and she will be sending them abroad-I did tell her that this is not London but she still thought it was a nice idea! Does anyone know where this is meant to be??

Time for you to pop over to Addicted to Stamps and More and check out the wonderful projects our DT have created, then time to join in the fun.
And this week Di's Digital Downloads are sponsoring us and you could win a $10 voucher to use in their store.

Time to get stamping my friends x

Inkspirational #25 Weekend Warrior Post!

As I am now the only DT member posting on Saturday at Inkspirational, Mynnette and Ellen have named me the 'weekend warrior' and I have to say I kinda like it!! So from now on my Saturday post for Inkspirational will be called after my new nick name!!

So today, I am hear to encourage you to join in our 'case the card' challenge. This week our inspiration card is by the super talented Vicki-click on her name to see her card or scroll to the bottom of my post.

And here is my 'case' using a freebie image from this month's sponsor,  Milk N Coffee Digital Stamps that you can find on their blog here

I took my inspiration from the CAS design, the layout and the row of gems. It is not such a great photo but I have added silver sparkle paper to the cake and as the plate. I coloured the cake stand with a sparkle gelly pen. I made this card for my crafting friend Asha who just had her 21st (ha, ha) Birthday-she does enjoy her cake!!

Now it is your turn, you have until Tuesday 6pm CST to join in so pop over to Inkspirational now and check out the rest of the DT's fab projects and then get inky!!

Addicted to Stamps and More #50 and Happy Birthday to us!!

A very happy Wednesday to you all,

Today at Addicted to Stamps and More we are celebrating our first Birthday! Yes, a year ago the very talented Kylie started this challenge blog and it has grown from strength to strength. She has worked so hard to make this challenge the success it is today. I feel blessed to part of her Design Team-so a very Happy Birthday to us and a big thank you to all of you for supporting us! And a huge thank you to Kylie for all the hard work she does.

Today at Addicted to Stamps and More we have this fabulous photo to inspire you:

Isn't this just gorgeous and bursting with inspiration. This is what I was inspired to make:

The subtle colours of the sky inspired me to blend various distress inks to make the long panel on my card. And I loved the contrast of this subtle sky with the strong black colour of the biggest butterfly and used die cuts to try to show this. And finally I embossed the pink card stock as a nod to the flowers in the photo.
Quite a lot going on here for one of my cards but I did love doing the blending and the rest just seemed to come together as I looked at the photo!
Our DT have some great projects to inspire you so go ahead and take a peek here and then get stamping!
And don't forget this week you have chance to win a $10 voucher for Di's Digi Downloads.

Have fun x

Addicted to CAS and CAS(E) this Sketch!

A very Happy Tuesday to you all,

It is a very, very happy Tuesday for me as hubby and I are off on our hols tomorrow morning. 2 weeks in sunny Cyprus. We can't wait to just relax and chill out in the sun and enjoy 2 weeks together with no worries except......is it a swimsuit or bikini day today!!

Today my card is for this week sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch and the 'teenager' challenge at Addicted to CAS. I decided I wanted to make a card for a girlfriend's friend who has just become a teenager and is still into pink but not frilly pink. So this is how I decided to go to cover this spec!!

(hover over the photo to and pin button will appear, click on here to pin to pinterest)

I am hoping this is just enough pink, not frilly but still kinda girly/grown up (that teenage thing!!) enough for her to love it.

The top speech bubble is heat embossed with melon powder and the other 2 are inked using different pink shades of memento inks. I have made the card super CAS by just scoring some lines.

And here is the sketch

Before I fly away to the sun, I wanted to say a big thank you to Jackie of Rockwell Designs. I know many of you know Jackie however I wanted to remind you of the fabulous design work she is now doing. She originally designed my blog and has recently been doing some changes for me. My sidebar is now all jazzed up and I have a funky 'pin' button when you hover over the photo of my card, so you can pin it to Pinterest. If you haven't joined Pinterest, try it out. It is full of inspiration. Click here to take a peek at my board to give you an idea. And on my side bar you can sign up to follow me on Pinterest.

Anyway, back to Jackie.........if you want to have a new blog design, give Jackie a shout here, the whole process was so easy. I explained my vision for my blog design and Jackie was able to convert this into what you know see and she has helped me keep on top of any changes I have wanted. Well worth checking her design blog out here.

Whilst I am away please still come and visit my blog on a Wednesday and a Saturday as I have scheduled my DT posts for Addicted to Stamps and More and Inkspirational. I am hoping to do some bog hopping whilst away but if not I will see you in a few weeks.

Take care my inky friends x

Lets go Shopping!

Welcome to a new week.

I am on count down now as I go away Wednesday for 2 weeks in the sun.

This card was inspired the photo this week on Inspired by. At first I wanted to go with a Wedding and hearts theme but then I remembered my new Kanban stamps that arrived last week. I had seen this card by my fellow Addicted to CAS DT member Nonni and just loved the stamp. Nonni was kind enough to direct me where to buy this and within a few days I had the set ready to be inked!
And then along came the Inspired By photo, giving the chance to have a play! I was inspired by the colours but mainly by the line of pink dresses and the pink lips. And here is my card:

I had a play with doing some colouring, a skill I am really trying to improve. I have used a mixture of promarkers and SU markers. Colouring is not one of my best techniques but I do find it very relaxing. It is quite strange really as I catch myself humming whilst I colour. So I may not be so good at it but I enjoy it and find it totally absorbing! This turned out not so bad and will be a fun card for a girlfriend.
I am also going to enter this into the 'for a girl' challenge at Deep Ocean Challenge and the 'mad for markers' challenge at Crafting When We Can

Here is the inspiration photo:

That's me for today, have a fun Monday x

Inkspirational #24

Happy Saturday and I hope you are having a good one!

I am here today with my 'end of week encouragement' post for Inkspirational. This week we have this photo to inspire you to create:

I was inspired all the waves of colours in this photo-the rough sea and the cloudy sky-all producing a photo full of colours. I translated this inspiration and came up with this card:

I have used the 'watermark wonder' stamp set from PTI and added some sparkle with a gelly roll pen. I thought this sentiment really was a good match for the photo!

Don't forget to pop over to see the fab creations from our DT here. You have until Tuesday 6pm (GMT) to enter. This month Milk N Coffee Digital Stamps are our sponsors so you could be the winner of 3 of their fabulous digi. Better get stamping!!

Dynamic Flowers and Muse #21

Hello crafting friends,

Today I am here with my card inspired by Therese's card at the Muse Club and the photo this week at Papercraft Star. I loved Therese's use of the big flowers as the focal point of her card and decided to use this as a starting point for my card. And the gorgoeus bunch of pink flowers in the photo at Papercraft Star was enough to inspire me. I have used the colours this week at The Dynamic Duos-blushing bride and soft suede. This is the first time I entered this challenge after missing the deadline for the last few weeks! My card is a CAS take on Therese's card and therefore I am entering it into the 'CAS Flowers' challenge at Make My Monday

Here is what I came up with using a large Hero Arts stamp and colouring with pink promarkers and SU markers.

Have a great day and before I go here is Therese's card:

My card is for my Parent's 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary. It is not until November but I do like to be prepared! I have heat embossed this 'Verve' sentiment in gold. I have not used this sentiment before as I have been saving it especially for this card.

Celebrate!

Hello my friends,

Today I have a card made for my nephew, Scott, who is going to the British version of U.S Prom night. To be honest I am not sure what we call here it here. When I was a teenager, many, many moons ago, we didn't have a prom, we had discos. You didn't go along with a partner, you went with your girlfriends and danced around a handbag.....oh the good old days!!

My Mum asked me to make her this card for Scott. He is going with a girl who is wearing a red dress and he is co-coordinating with a red tie (so sweet!). Before I tell you how the design of my card came about, have a look and see if you like it!

I have been thinking of about the design of this card for a while, then when looking through my Fresh Squeezed Stamp's blog, I came across this card by Jennifer and and just loved this CAS design and thought this would work well with a tie stamp.
I was also inspired by the repetitive design and colours on the dress at Runway Inspired.
Operation Write Home Bootcamp this month is all about repetition in design and after reading this I decided to add variation by using the embossing folder on the background card. And finally, one of my favourite challenges, CAS on Sunday, has a black, white and one other colour challenge, so this card really has the last bit of inspiration it needed for me to get inky!

Inkspirational #23

I am here today with my 'End of the week encouragement' post for Inkspirational. You still have until Tuesday 6pm (GMT) to play along.
This week we are really getting into the Summer spirit with this colour combo for you:

I love these cheery colours and wanted to make a card all full of oranges and lemons but then I went a completely different way when I had a play around with a stamp my cousin Lynn sent me. This is quite a different card for me but some how still looks CAS!!

I stamped the outline in black then the bolder stamp in orange and coloured in the rest of the petals in yellow. I then found a thick ribbon in my stash that I thought really matched the flower colours. I tied this super sized bow (I am not letting you know how long it took me to get it right!!) and added this. Mounted all this on melon card stock and added a melon gem.
Our DT have some great creations made using these colours so take a peek here and don't forget this month the prize is 3 digi's from Milk N Coffee Digital Stamps!
I will also enter this into the 'bingo' challenge at Addicted to Stamps and the 'ribbons and lace' challenge at Rhedd and Rosie's Challenge.

Addicted to Stamps and More #48

Happy Wednesday crafting friends,

This week at Addicted to Stamps and More we have a great colour combo challenge for you:

I wanted to use my PTI 'watermark wonder' set but struggled to get a colour ink that was near 'so saffron'. In the end I used memento 'peanut brittle' and stamped it off a few times and I think it came pretty close! What do you think?

These colours really do work well together. Please pop over here and see what our super talented DT have created and then get stamping!

This week you have the chance to win a $10 gift voucher from our fabulous sponsor Di's Digi Downloads

I will also enter this into the 'use a rubber stamp' at Card Makin' Mamas and the 'CAS' challenge at Penny Black and More

Muse #20

Happy Tuesday my crafting chums,

I have not played along with at the Muse Club for a couple of weeks but when I saw Laurie's fabulous card this week, I immediately had an idea and was inspired to get inky and play along. I loved the layout of Laurie's card, the score lines and the stamp she had used.
And here is my 'case':

I had to hunt around for some ribbon that I was happy with and ended up layering this thin pink ribbon on top of the black. I thought this sentiment went so well with the feel of the card. Inside I stamped 'celebrate in style'. This card is going to go to one of my more glam friends who really is a style queen!

And here is Laurie's card:

I am also going to enter this into the 'CAS' challenge at Penny Black and More and the 'anything goes with a ribbon' challenge at Crafty Ribbons Challenge and the 'use lace or ribbon' challenge at Make My Monday

Have a great day x

A Belated Happy Birthday to Ardyth and an early Dad's DAY!

Happy Sunday,

Today my card is actually going to my Dad for Father's Day but it is also a virtual card made for Ardyth. Her Birthday was on Wednesday and Darnell held a hop for her and also asked us to make a card inspired by Ardyth. Now, my card isn't a Birthday card but it was most definitely inspired by Ardyth's love of CAS, bright colours. geometric and graphic style cards. I thought of various ideas to portray all these elements then decided that this embossing folder and bold sentiment together did all this for me! What do you think?

The sentiment is a freebie from Create With TLC and I have just coloured in 'Dad' with promarkers. A very CAS card that I thought was perfect for my Dad-he likes the cards I make that are made with Kraft card-and a 'case' of how I see Ardyth's style.

I am going to enter this into the following challenges:

CAS on Sunday-make it masculine
Cards for Men-Dad
The Sisterhood of Crafters-say it loud
Sweet Stampin' Challenge-Father's Day

Enjoy the rest of your weekend x

Inkspirational #22

Its the weekend at last and our first day June! And I am here today with my card for the 'end of the week encouragement' post for our 'Anything Goes' challenge at Inkspirational.
If you haven't played along yet you still have until Tuesday to join in the fun. And, as this week 'anything goes', you can really have some fun!

I played along with my Fresh Squeezed 'on trend' stamp set. When I got these stamps I looked through their fabulous blog to get ideas of how to use my new stamps and wow there is a lot of inspiration there! I saw this card by Jingle and loved it a decided to case it for my inspiration card for you today-thank you Jingle!!
And here it is:

I have added a little bit of glamour to my card by using a gelly roll sparkle pen on the cityscape but it is hard to see from this angle. Plus the chevron strip is on foam pads for dimension. So here is another view that I hope shows these elements a bit better. However it was a rainy day in May when I scheduled this post so my glamour doesn't show so well!

This card is going to a very dear girlfriend of mine, who like myself, is a real city girl........we both love London!
Now it is your turn to play along but first pop over to our blog here to see the fab projects our DT have made and don't forget that you could win these goodies from Tammy at Creativity and Me
