Happy 80th Dad!

Hi All

Today my Dad is 80!

I know we all think our Dad's are the best.....but you all have it wrong....because it is my Dad who is the best!
He is always there for me in good and bad times and let's face it, I have not made it easy!

With the world strange as it is he will not have the 80th as it was planned but I know he will know he is surrounded by love, even if from afar.

I made a special card for him-he is Scottish so I got a Thistle stencil from Funky Fossil Designs and did my best at making the colours work-had to look up colours of thistles on the internet to make sure I got it right!

Hope you like it Dad and as the sentiment says....I love you xx

And I wanted to share with you all a couple of my fav photos of me and Dad on my Wedding Day-15 years ago now. This is in Santorini at sunset and Dad next to be, all the way!

Have a great day Dad xx

Have a Beautiful Day!

Hi All

The other day I used this flower stamp from Funky Fossil Designs but was not so happy with the outcome so wanted a second try!

This time I black embossed the stamp and then water coloured in the new colours from CAS colours and Sketches.

This time I am much happier!

The sentiment is from Altenew

Hope you all have a beautiful day!

Crafty Friends!

Hi All,

A little package of crafty goodies arrived yesterday from the lovely Joyce.

All so fun and this die cut frame was just perfect for me to make a card to you all!!

I loved this frame and thought it would go perfectly with yellow.
This sentiment which I love (another pressie from a crafty friend-Sarah G) and have been wanting to use it since I saw the challenge at Cupcake Inspirations-use the sentiment as the main focus
When I saw the lattice of my new goodie, it reminded me of the linings on the cupcake holders....so off I went, I had my design!

Crafty friends really are the best!

Enjoy!

Have a Gorgeus Day!

Hi All

Popping in with a card made from my new stamp set Funky Florals from Funky Fossil Designs.

I heat embossed the stamp in white and using some of the bright colours from the picture at The Card Concept I water coloured my image. I wish I had used a different colour for the embossing-at the moment my water colouring and embossing is upstairs in my craft space area but hubby now always works in there due to lockdown...and in the afternoon I couldn't really see the embossed lines as my craft light is downstairs in my new makeshift area! Still next time I know!

I added a few splatters using my paintbrush as the challenge at Inkspirational asks for. The lovely Nonni taught me a while ago how to do this-and Nonni this is the first time I seemed to get it right!

Enjoy your day!

The Card Concept-Spring photo-colours and flower inspires and I guess it is still CAS?

Finally I did it!

Hi All

I finally made 2 cards for the Twofer Challenge-Rain/Umbrella.
This challenge I find so hard but finally inspiration struck especially as I really wanted to make a card with my new stamp from Visible Image.

First off this card using the full image:

I love this image and the sentiment-I will post this on the Women be your own kind of beautiful!

And then the second card where I masked the women and just used the umbrella. I followed the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch and I made this in rainbow colours as this is what we are doing in the UK for our NHS front line staff.

I will also enter into Festive Friday-they are celebrating National Nurses Day-6th May and I have used more than the 3 elemnets they ask us to!

I will enter this card into Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time this stamp set has been inked up.

And now for the 2 cards together:

Have a fun weekend x

Snow is Falling!

Hi All

I had to play along with the sketch at AAA Cards Challenge and like to try out a few one layer cards before Christmas....cheaper postage!

I think you could say I took the option of 'it flies' as snow falls from the sky but when lots of wind it flies everywhere too!!

You may think you have seen this before.....but no, I doubled checked and it is the same set I used a lot last year but this time a new design!

The set is from Visible Image and you can find it here

Have a fun day!

CASology #366

Hi All

We have a new challenge at CASology today and here is my card:

And the cue word:

Pretty easy to see I went for 'Leo' as my sign. This card did not go to someone who is a Leo but an Aries!

I have used delicata ink to stamp the Lion on a plain stitched frame and then mounted it on embossed card.

So what will you make of the cue word 'zodiac'....doesn't have to be a sign of the zodiac-I am sure you have many other ideas!

This challenge is sponsored by STAMPlorations

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Ma-Mi-we are so happy you are joining us Ma-Mi!

Pop on over to CASology to see what the DT have created for you and then join on in!

Our Design Team are all worth a visit and some love-here they are;

Enjoy!

Time Out #159

Hi All

We have our 'Inspired by Words' challenge at Time Out-you can use any of the words or the whole phrase to inspire you:

First off my card:

And here is the phrase:

How does my card fit the quote??

Well I went a little sideways on this as I wanted to do something a bit different. So I came up with the idea.....you need to type up books before you get a Library!!
And my book is called 'Hello'....so it could be on it's way to one of you!

The little typewriter is from our fabulous sponsor Newton's Nook and here I have used the stamp set My Type and the matching die set My Type Die

I added a strip of dry embossed white card-quite hard to see in the photo but IRL does show up really well.

I am so sorry to let you know that our wonderful Design Team Member Anita has decided it is time for her to step down and this will be her last challenge. Anita has been with us since we started Time Out and has inspired us all. I am so sorry to see her go and will miss her so much. Thank you Anita for all your hard work and helping us build Time Out to the challenge it is today.
Can't wait to see what you will be making us when you join in future challenges!

Now time for you all to take some Time Out and craft with us-pop on over to Time Out and see what the Lee Ann and the team have made to inspire you!

Enjoy!

I will enter this into:

Addicted to CAS-texture-this text background is about as texture as I use!
