Fusion-Purple and Poppies

Hello again,

We have a new challenge at Fusion. Today we have this gorgeous photo and sketch to inspire you:

You can use either the sketch or photo or fuse the 2.

I went with the photo:

I water coloured this poppy stamp and added the sentiment at the top for balance. Just a few sequins to finish it off.

Our DT have created some fabulous cards. Check them out here.

I will enter this into this week's challenge at Muse where Tracey's card is so very pretty and perfectly CAS-I kept to the same feel (I hope) as Tracey's card plus the lay out of flowers down the side just moving the sentiment.

Now it is time for you to get inky.

Enjoy x

Time Out #43

A very Happy Friday Eve,

You know what that means.......time to take some TIME OUT and get crafty as TIME OUT  are starting a new challenge. This time around it is our theme challenge and the theme is:

Christmas with the optional twist of using purple and/or pink

Here is my card using the twist:

Uniko are sponsoring this challenge and we are very pleased that some of their Design Team are joining in with us this week-you can check out what they have created on our main blog here. We are choosing a random winner from those who twist with us. I got the idea for this card when I saw Jane, a member of the DT Uniko team create this card. I loved how used vellum to stamp the poinsettia. The stamp is pure florals-poinsettia from Uniko and the sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very creative Suchi. I have for a long time admired Suchi's cards. Check out her blog here.

Pop over to Time Out and see what Suchi and the DT have created to inspire you to join in and then take some time out and join in. Christmas is just around the corner so this challenge gives you a good change to get ahead!

I will enter this into:

Addicted to Stamps and More-Holiday Challenge
Runway Inspired Challenge-my vellum poinsettia very much like the lace bridal dress!

Now it is your turn to kick back and join in the fun x

Inkspirational #94

A very Happy Weekend my blogging Friends

It is time for a new challenge at Inkspirational. We have our 'Designer's Choice' challenge. This time around, the very talented and fun Carol has chosen 'Cute Halloween' as the theme.

Here is my card:

This was a tough one for me. I don't really make Halloween cards and thought I had no Halloween stamps. I had a look through my stash and came across a set from STAMPlorations. I won this set when I entered one of their very first challenges I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the ghost and hat and arranged them around the CAS-ual Friday sentiment, which I had heat embossed. I actually hand drew the cob web!

This was fun to make-so thank you for challenging me Carol!

Our Guest Designer is Becca. Her blog Damsel of Distressed Cards is so inspiring, go and check it out, you will love what you see.

Our DT have all made some fun cards. Take a look here and then have some fun with us.

I will enter this into the 'clean and simple Halloween' challenge at AAA cards and the photo inspired challenge at The Challenge and the 'pretty pumpkins' challenge at Curtain Call and the 'spooky' challenge at Addicted to CAS

You Rock!

Hi All

I have a card for you today inspired by the colours at Colour Q-melon mambo, grey and pink pirouette-fitting colours for Breast awareness month.

I started off by stamping these stripes in the 2 colours and then die cutting the bubble. After I did this, I then stamped the sentiment. Layered up some more die cut bubbles to give the dimension. I added a few sequins and enamel dots in the right colours and although I don't have melon mambo ink but do have the SU card stock.

I will also enter this into the 'geometric' challenge at Uniko and 'Think Pink' at AEIHeartuChallenge

Have a fun day x

Time Out Reminder

Happy Friday Eve,

It's reminder time at Time Out Challenges.

It is our photo challenge and here is the photo that we hope will inspire you to play:

Spray paint dollar store glass candle sticks black and add pumpkins for Halloween decoration

Last week I went with the chevrons only but this week I decided to go with stripes, the colours and the Halloween theme.

The pumpkin and sentiment are very old stamps from STAMPlorations. I am not the best at colouring but had fun giving it a go! The striped stamp is from Winnie and Walter. I just coloured the image, fussy cut it out and then popped it up on some foam pads.

This card is flying over the pond to a blogging friend who loves Halloween.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the inspiring and talented TaeEun. She has made some fabulous cards for this challenge. Take a look at TaeEun's and out DT cards here

I will enter this into the following chalenges:
- 'clean and simple Halloween' challenge at AAA cards
-the photo inspired challenge at The Challenge
-pretty pumpkins at Curtain Call
Time to get inky my friends x

The Card Concept #42

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

For this challenge you can use any card style you want-the styles are explained here. Or why not combine a few of the styles?

Here is my 'Clean and Simple' one layer card for our colour challenge:

And here are the colours and our photo to inspire you:

We would like to see all these colours-Cream, Burgundy, Pink & Espresso-on your card.

I found this a tough one. I wanted to make a one layer card but it was quite hard for me to think of an idea to get all these colours in. However I got there in the end!

Our Guest Designer this month is the very talented Diane. Her style is Free style collage. Check out her blog here

Our DT have all made some fabulous cards in a variety of styles. Check them out here and then get inky.

Fusion-All Hallows Eve

I am back again today but this time with our new challenge at Fusion.

We have both a photo and sketch for you. Choose either one or fuse the 2!

Here they are:

Here is my take:

I found this a tough one. The sketch seemed too layered for me and the photo I love but I didn't want to make a Halloween card. I zoomed in on the photo quite a few times and decided to go with the framed photo on the mantle piece-the one with the tree in the centre. I even zoomed close enough in so I could see the colours on the tree and used the exact ones on my version. I finished off my sponging some sky. I did keep to the classic orange and black of Halloween.

Our DT have come up with some fabulous designs. Take a look here. Then time to get inky and join in. You have until 27th Oct Noon (PST) to join in.

Enjoy!

Time Out #42

A very Happy Friday Eve,

Time for our new challenge at Time Out Challenges. It is our photo challenge and here is the photo:

Spray paint dollar store glass candle sticks black and add pumpkins for Halloween decoration

So what is it here that inspires you to get crafty.

Here is what I created. Shock, horror....no stamping but patterned paper and die cuts...goodness, did I really make this!! (yes, yes, honestly I did)

I thought about this for a while and was going to go with the colours and chevrons plus I did want to use patterned paper. I had a look through my stash and found this paper that was given to me by Virginia when we met up in London. I found this die cut in my stash also. I decided on this CAS layout when I saw the sketch at Sovushka Slavia.

Our Guest Designer this week is TaeEun. Check out her blog Rainbow in November, it is fabulous.

TaeEun and our DT have created some stunning cards-check them out here.

Time to take TIME OUT to create.

Have fun x

Muse #137

A very Happy Monday,

I seem to be a bit hooked on the challenges at Muse Card Club at the moment. I think what I like is that each week the cards are so different that I find it quite inspiring to try something new.

This week the very talented Michele challenged us to use patterned paper. Like Michele I am a CAS designer and using DSP is, well, a real challenge for me! However encouraged by her use of adding her own little touch of stamping to a card covered in DSP, I gave it go.

Here is what I came up with:

I got this paper from Virginia when I met up with her this year and I have been wanting to use it for ages. I knew I wanted to add something to the centre but just wasn't sure what. A hunt through my stash and I came across this fun Uniko explosion stamp. I stamped this and fussy cut it out, coloured it and stamped the 'wow' in the centre. I used the closet colours I had to match the paper. I added the explosion stamp onto the card using foam pads and curled the edges to give more dimension. This was really fun to make.

I know this is really different for me but I like it and think it will be good for a congratulations card.

Here is Michele's card:

Inkspirational #93

Time for our 'Word Prompt' challenge at Inkspirational. Here is our word:

Here is my card inspired by the word 'glow'

I went with the glow of lights from windows at night.

I haven't used this cityscape stamp for ages but thought it would be good as it has lots of little windows that I could randomly colour in some glowing lights.

I added in some fireworks which also glow!

Our Guest Designer is the very talented Hannelie. I have been a long time admirer of Hannelie, her creativity is so inspiring. Check out her blog Desert Diva-you will come away full of ideas.

Our DT have all made fabulous cards inspired by 'Glow'. Take a look here and then get inky!

Time Out Reminder

Have you played along at our challenge at Time Out Challenges?

We are asking you to inspired by these words:

 'Autumn...the year's last, loveliest smile'

Use any of these words or the whole phrase.  This week I decided to go with 'Smile' and created this card:

I did some water colouring for this card. Asa's take on the sketch at Happy Little Stampers inspired my lay out. It is quite a loose interpretation of the sketch but as soon as I saw Asa's take I thought it was really creative and used her idea as my starting point. Thanks for the inspiration Asa.

This week at Time Out Challenges our Guest Designer is Glenda. She is the Queen of stitching and I would urge you to check out her blog here

I will be entering this into the following challenges:

AAA Cards-word play.
Happy Little Stampers-sketch challenge
Colour Throwdown-mint green, saffron and ivory.

The Card Concept #41

It is time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

Here is our photo to inspire you:

And here is my card:

This photo made me think of someone sat on this chair on their porch contemplating life. I thought this sentiment was perfect to reflect this. I used the colours from the photo and this very CAS design to finish my card.

Our Guest Designer this month is the very talented Diane. Her style is Free style collage. Check out her blog here

I am on the 'Clean and Simple' DT but for this challenge you can use any style of card, just let us know what style. Our DT have all made cards from different styles. Check them out here and then join in the fun x

I will enter this into:

AAA Cards-word play

Butterfly Muse

Hi All

I am playing along with Muse again this week.

Our Muse is Joan and she has created a gorgeous card for us. As soon as I saw her card I started creating. I was drawn to the water coloured background and the white embossing. I actually made 2 backgrounds and left them over night to dry and flatten. I am not so happy with one of them but hope to see what I can do with it later.

Here is the one I finished this morning. I embossed the butterfly with sparkly white embossing powder, fussy cut it before adhering to my water colour background. I coloured the centre of the butterfly really to hide the adhesive!

Here is Joan's card:

Hopefully I will be able to rescue the other card and post later in the week, although I wouldn't hold your breath!!

World Card Making Day take 2!

As most of you know yesterday was card making day and I had a fun afternoon making cards. My hubby was working at home so it was the perfect time to craft.

Here is another card I made:

This was inspired by the colour challenge at Winnie and Walter. Heather set us the challenge to use aqua, mint, kraft and yellow. It was quite a tough one for me but I got there in the end. Plus I do love the result. I actually got a ping moment when I saw the latest sketch at Retro Sketches. I haven't played at Retro Sketches for a while so it was fun to get the inspiration this week.
I will also enter the 'CAS' challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

Have a good day x

I love Purple!

Happy Card Making Day.

Here is a card I just made today:

I guess most of you who follow my blog will already know I am a purple freak. However today I have a very good reason to pull out my neon purple ink as Becca is holding a 'Blog to Stop' domestic violence. Here is why:

You see, purple is the colour of National Domestic Violence Awareness month.
1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence over the course of their lifetimes.
Let that sink in - 33% of all the women you meet.

And women aren't the only people who are affected! Women, men, transgender - gender doesn't matter. Domestic violence is something that exists regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, religion, education level, etc.

As today is 'World Card Making Day'. I really wanted to join in and make a card for this worthy cause.

I was also inspired by a few challenges that I have seen today:

Winnie and Walter Sketch challenge for WCMD-I flipped the sketch.

Less is More-who want to see 'jewel' colours. I have gone for amethyst. My engagement ring is amethyst...I know not a great surprise!

I hope you get time to create today and also to join Becca here and raise awareness of domeatic abuse.

Today is a day for all us 'card making' lovers to get inky-hope you get some time x

edited to add-I forgot Winnie and Walter are asking us to take craftie's today. So hubby just took this of me hiding in the corner of my tiny craft space-you can see it is getting dark now, time for me to stop crafting I think!
