Time Out Challenges #95

Hi There,

Time to take some crafty TIME OUT and join in our latest challenge at Time Out Challenges

Our theme this is:

Sympathy cards with the optional twist of distressing-(using distress inks, distress edges or torn edges)

Hard cards to make, we know, but always good to have a few in your stash.

Here is my card using the option of a distressed edged made using the distress tool.

My sentiment stamp is from our fabulous sponsor for this challenge Happy Little Stampers.

I used the negative section of this leave die and popped it up of some foam pads over a scrap of water coloured card that I had already attached to some lilac coloured card base. I used a distressing tool on the edge of the cream coloured card.

Our Guest Designer this week is the very creative Sue. I have for a long time admired Sue's CAS style and every visit to her blog brings yet more inspiration-take a look here

Our DT have made some amazing cards for you all-pop on over to Time Out and have a look.

Then kick back, take some TIME OUT and craft a little with us x

I will enter this into:

Now a CAS 'You Rock'

Hello Again,

I rarely post 2 cards in a day but these cards were made together and I deliberately made this card as a CAS version to this card...or just scroll down to see it!

It was hard to get a good photo of this so you can see the score lines and the texture on the white card I added using my linen embossing folder but I hope you can see it well enough.

I just used the left over 'bubble' card from the floral card I made earlier this time sticking it to pink fun foam. Added a few score lines and some texture.

Which card do you link best-CAS or not so CAS??

This card I made especially CAS so I could enter the 'Cherish' challenge at CASology
I will also enter:

Calling All Sistahs Encouragement Challenge-again the pinks and the flowers from the photo inspired me.

Floral 'You Rock'

Hi There,

I haven't felt like crafting for a bit but last night an idea popped into my head for 2 cards, inspired by a few challenges-one CAS and one not so CAS. I was up early making them.

Here is my not so CAS version:

I was inspired to use the soft pink and flowers in the photo at Calling All Sistahs-hoping this card will let a friend know how much 'they rock!'.Also the 'Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness' challenge at CAS-ual Friday Challenge.

I decided to use the CAS-ual Friday background floral stamp and stamped it in a very light pink, colouring a few flowers in grey. I teamed the pink with grey, a combo I really like. Then just cut out the bubble die in grey fun foam and pink paper.

I am going to be back in a couple of minutes with my CAS version of this!

Inkspirational #146

A very Happy Weekend to all

We have a new photo challenge starting at Inkspirational today and here is the card I have made:

To be honest I made the ages ago when I was in the DT for AAA Cards. I didn't end up using it there and when I saw our photo here at Inkspirational, I thought it was perfect!

I think it is pretty easy to see the sparklers inspired my sun rays and naturally the colours my sun. So, who says you can't make a sunshine card at this time of year!!

Our DT have all made super cards inspired by this warmly photo-check them out here

Enjoy x

Floral Fun!

Hi All

Haven't been too crafty this week even though I had ideas in my head. But finally I got around to making a card I had been thinking about for the sketch at CAS-ual Fridays Sketch Challenge

I knew I wanted to use the Pretty Posies stamp set and dies from CAS-ual Fridays but also wanted to use my favourite flower stamp at the moment Full on Floral. I couldn't think of how to use this background stamp yet still keep the card CAS.....however DT member Michelle's card here gave me an idea-thanks Michelle .I stamped the floral background in versa marker onto maroon coloured card. I then heat embossed it using maroon embossing powder. I love how this looked, still keeping the card CAS but with a lovely textured and shiny background.

Next I heat embossed the flowers and leaves with the same embossing powder-I used scrap water colour card I had left over from the piece of water coloured for the Calling All Sistahs Challenge. Die cut and arranged.

I am quite happy how this turned out.

Have a fun day x

Time Out Challenges #94

Hi There,

Ready to take some TIME OUT and join in our photo challenge at Time Out Challenges?

Here is what I created:

Here is our photo:

I wasn't sure where to go with this challenge and kept zooming in so I could check out the details. Finally inspiration struck when I focused in on the little white shell on the bottom left hand corner-have a close look and you will see what looked like to me, a flower with 5 petals. So hunted through my stash and found this Concord and 9th die. I used this with the colours in the photo adding the sentiment from our fabulous sponsor STAMPlorations. The tags come from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Janet. I was thrilled when she agreed to join us and you will see why if you check out her blog here

Our Design Team and Janet have all made superb cards to inspire you-check them out here.

Then take some crafty time to yourself and get inky x

I will enter this into:

color Throwdown-orange, kraft and black
CASology-odd-I have used a flower with an odd number of petals-thanks Michele for pointing this out!

Inkspirational #145

Hi There,

A new challenge starts at Inkspirational today and this time it is my turn to choose the challenge. I went with one of my favourite cards to make and that is:

One Layer Cards:

Here is mine:

Couldn't get more CAS than this! Actually this was made for my husband for our 12th Wedding Anniversary. We have a little competition going, where we try to get the most CAS card we can for our celebrations. It is easy for me but I have to say for my Birthday he got the most CAS card I have ever seen-shop bought! So this time, I made mine super CAS. And yes it was more CAS than his...hehe!

All these stamps are from Uniko.

Check out how the rest of the DT did with my challenge here-you will be impressed!

Have fun and join in x

So Happy To Know You

Hi There,

I got some goodies from Verve and wanted to have a play.

Yesterday I water coloured a panel and today got to work making a card based on the sketch at Viva La Verve. It took me a while to CAS this sketch down but I think I have done it!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Happy Little Stampers CAS October Challenge

Hi All

Time for a new challenge 'Clean and Simple' challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

This time we want to see:

One layer cards

I love making one layer cards and here we go:

The photo doesn't really do the card justice. It is really pretty as I used the lovely 'sweet sixteen' ink from Catherine Pooler (a pressie from my cousin Lynn). I love the look of it IRL and have added a few pearls around the snowflake but after many attempts of photographing it, this was the best I could do!

The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers and the snowflake from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.

I got this idea when I saw this card by Nonni-I like the way she had placed the sentiment in the middle of the doily and that this would work well with a large snowflake=thanks Nonni for the inspiration.

The winner of this challenge will get a $20 gift voucher to use in our store.
Check out the amazing creations from the DT here and then get inky
