Sympathy cards with the optional twist of distressing-(using distress inks, distress edges or torn edges)
Hard cards to make, we know, but always good to have a few in your stash.
Here is my card using the option of a distressed edged made using the distress tool.
My sentiment stamp is from our fabulous sponsor for this challenge Happy Little Stampers.
I used the negative section of this leave die and popped it up of some foam pads over a scrap of water coloured card that I had already attached to some lilac coloured card base. I used a distressing tool on the edge of the cream coloured card.
Our Guest Designer this week is the very creative Sue. I have for a long time admired Sue's CAS style and every visit to her blog brings yet more inspiration-take a look here
Our DT have made some amazing cards for you all-pop on over to Time Out and have a look.
Then kick back, take some TIME OUT and craft a little with us x
I will enter this into:
CASology-Cherish-we all cherish those who are dear to us and losing them reminds us to cherish them forever and reminds us to cherish those who are with us now.

The watercolourbackground looks so good! A beautiful card for such an occasion! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment on my blog, Sandie. All's well here. Hope for you too. This lilac version of a sympathy card is so soothing. Natural elements are perfect for sympathy cards.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Sandie. Love that leaf die cut...and the purples are so soothing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and serene, Sandie. Love the watercolour and purple. x
ReplyDeleteSuch nice interesting soft colors for your card/leaves.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color, Sandy! I love this card in its entirety!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card, hon! I love the negative die cut opening and the way your watercolored base pops from it, very stylish and creatively made! Your mojo is on fire! xxx
ReplyDeletePretty and appropriate for the event -I like the distressing.
ReplyDeleteA design that is appropriate for a sympathy card. As you say, these cards can be hard to make so why not make more of the same, and by just changing colors you can achieve very different looks.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Sandie. The purple hues are perfect for a sympathy card. I love the placement of the sentiment. xx
ReplyDeleteSo clever to use the negative of your die cut Sandie! Thanks for joining us at CASology this week.
ReplyDeleteThis is simply gorgeous! Love the beautiful watercolor piece peeking through your negative die cut. Thanks for playing along with CASology!
ReplyDeleteSimple and so lovely, Sandie ... the purple is just gorgeous with the cream! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI love the distressed edge around the edge of your panel - it is the perfect finishing touch to your very pretty card! The subtle shading in your water colouring is just beautiful too :)
