Inkspirational #140

Hi All

Time for a new challenge at Inkspirational. It is our photo challenge.

I focused on the colours, the wood and the graphic feature of the panels and created this:

And our photo:

Hey, I found this really awesome Etsy listing at https://www.etsy.com/listing/169910444/shelf-reclaimed-pallet-decorative-hook

To be honest I had forgotten I hadn't made a card for this challenge! I like to prepare DT cards ahead of time and thought I was well ahead for Inskspirational until I realised the other day I had missed this challenge. Thanks to all the goodies I got for my Birthday from so many of you, I hunted through my stash of these and found all these elements for this card. So all I needed to do was put these all together and add my own sentiment. I had a go at using the nuvo drops that Stephanie gave me. I added a few drops onto the wooden dots and then one directly onto the card. I love how easy it is to use the nuvo drops and you will be seeing more of these.

Jaydee is our fabulous Guest Designer for this challenge. Check out here amazing blog here. Then head on over to Inkspirational and see what the DT have made to inspire you.

Enjoy your weekend x

No Stamps!

Hi All,

I actually got some crafting done for fun inspired by a few challenges.

Here is what I made:

Not often do I make a card using no stamps but the challenge at  Less is More was to do exactly that. This fell in with an idea I had for the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. I was originally going to stamp a sentiment but changed this to a die to fit in with Less is More. I got the colour idea from The Challenge-black/white/one other colour

I cut the tag die in white and gold. Cut the butterfly in the same. The bottom part of the sentiment is vellum. I do love the texture of the base card (a pressie from Nonni-thanks hon), although hard to see in this photo. It is a little dull here and it was hard to get a good photo.

I will enter this into:
Less is More-no stamps
The Challenge-black, white and one other colour

Time Out Challenges #88

Hi All,

A new challenge starts today at Time Out

It is our 'Inspired by Words' challenge. The words this week come from the Children's novel 'Twits' by Roald Dahl:

'If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely'

You can use any of these words or the whole phrase to inspire you. You might want to go with 'shine' or 'sunbeams' as many of you are seeing that this time of year. Or why not remind someone they 'look lovely'....perhaps send someone 'good thoughts'. So many possibilities with this one quote!

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very creative Toni.

Her blog Frankie Helps Craft is a delight to visit. Take some Time Out and pop over there and have a browse. We guarantee you will love what you see. We are so happy Toni is joining us for this challenge.

I went with sending someone positive thoughts and created this card:

I heat embossed, in white, this fab sentiment from The Ton. Then dry embossed the white background to give a lovely light, floaty feel to the card-like being cuddled with positive thoughts. I just added this star paper click and a few enamel dots to finish off.
I really love how this turned out.

Our DT have all been inspired differently by this quote-pop over to Time Out and have a look.

Then take some TIME OUT and play along with us x

I will enter this into:
Cupcake Inspirations-black, yellow and white
Calling All Sistahs Encouragement Challenge -picking out the yellow from the photo and my embossed background could be the floating clouds!
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge-seeing stars

Christmas in July

Happy Monday,

I actually got some crafting done this weekend after weeks of doing none. I made a few DT cards and then joined in a few challenges with this Christmas card:

I wanted to play along with the joint challenge at Less is More and AAA Cards-coloured card base and one layer. I love one layer cards and love using coloured card base so had to join in. Then I saw CAS-ual Fridays were having a Christmas in July Challenge. Well inspiration finally spiked and I had a go at CASEing one of my own cards but made it harder for myself by wanting to use embossing and this is not so easy on one layer! Also doing this meant changing the lay out of my card-this took a lot of messing around but eventually I got the placement of the sentiment where I liked it...see I know CAS cards look easy but often take a while just planning where you want to place elements so they are pleasing to your eye!

These stamps are all from CAS-ual Fridays and I heat embossed them in a sparkle snow powder on blue card base. I actually love how it turned out, all sparkly and CAS....you know that makes me happy. Plus with the postage costing so much at the moment I am trying to make all my Christmas cards for abroad one layer!

I will enter this into:

Inkspirational #139

Happy Saturday,

I know, it has been ages since I posted. 2 weeks in the sun does that to you!

Mojo not back yet but today I have a card for you I made a while ago and love.
Perhaps CASEing a few of my old cards that I really like might help. Probably bore you, but what do you think...might this help?

We have our Designer's choice challenge at Inkspirational. This time the very creative and inspiring Shauna has designed a sketch for us-see it below.
My CAS loving heart beat a happy dance as soon as I saw it and I made this Birthday card that was sent to my Dad back in April...he likes his wine!!

The clock's are stamped with delicata gold ink and the sentiment white embossed.

Our wonderful Guest Designer for this challenge is Izzy. I love Izzy's style and have been following her for a while now. Do yourself a favour and pop over to her site here and take a browse, you will love it.

Take a look at what our DT have made for you Inkspirational and then get crafty x

Time Out #87 and Happy Birthday Kylie

Hi All

Time for a new challenge at Time Out Challenges.

It is our CASE (copy and share) challenge.

We are vey excited that for this challenge we are CASEing Cornelia. I am sure many of you know Cornelia and if not check out her amazing blog here. I have followed Cornelia for many years now and her creativity grows with every card I see.

Here is my CASE:

And here is Cornelia's

Isn't it stunning!

I am not into cute and whimsical images so did find this quite hard to CASE but decided to go with the lay out and the 'wings'

This card was made especially for my dear friend Kylie who is celebrating her Birthday today-Happy Birthday buddy, have a wild one.

I deliberately used all stamps and dies from Kylie's shop Happy Little Stampers and it just happens that they are sponsoring us for this challenge with the winner getting $15 gift voucher for their store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Pooja. Her projects are amazing and her creativity just blooms. Take a look at her stunning blog here and you will love what you see!

Want some more ideas for CASEing this amazing card by Cornelia-check out Time Out here.

Then take some TIME OUT yourself and get inky!

Inkspirational #138

Hi All

I have not posted for a while as life has just got in the way and my creativity could not cope with life!

However as you read this I am on a much needed holiday. I am hoping this break kicks my mojo back into gear. I have this nagging feeling that I will not create a card again....lets hope the break helps.

So the cards over the next few weeks are my DT cards make a while ago now!

Time for a new challenge at Inkspirational. This time we have our word prompt and the word is:

Rural

I found this one hard and in the end just went with flowers-there are lots of flowers in the country side. I know, not so creative!

I went for a CAS design-no surprise and very summery colours. I actually added some twine but I do like how fresh this card looks.

Our Guest Designer is the very talented Elaine. I have followed Elaine for many years now and am always inspired by her creativity. Check out her blog here and be prepared to be inspired.

Don't forget to pop over and see what Elaine and the DT have created for this challenge-you can see them here
