The Card Concept #62-Thanksgiving

Hello All

We have a stunning photo for you at The Card Concept.

Here is my 'Clean and Simple' card:

And our photo:

I was inspired by the flowers in the jug-there are ones that change from yellow in the centre to orange.

This card was also inspired by Tracey's card at the Muse Challenge this week. I loved the focal point of Tracey's leaf and the changing colours and I think you can see how my card follows this.

You can create a card using this photo as inspiration and use any style of card making you want or combine a few styles. Here is the definition of our styles.

Our Guest Designer for November is the very talented Lisa. Check out her blog here and you will see so many creative projects.

Our DT have all made some wonderful cards inspired by this photo. Check them out here and then get inky.

Enjoy x

The Card Concept #56

Hi There,

We have a new challenge starting at  The Card Concept. Our photo is very pretty and I was inspired by by the pink flowers in the tea cup and the touches of gold in the photo.

I made this 'Clean and Simple' card:

Here is our photo:

I heat embossed this flower on vellum and then coloured it using copics. I felt the flower expressed the delicate look of the tea cup. The gold strip was added as a nod to the gold picture frame.

You can create a card in any style you want and you can check out these styles here

This month our Guest Designer is the very talented Becca. She will be creating mixed media cards for us. Becca's blog, The Damsel of Distress, will be known by many of you but if not, pop over there and you will be inspired.

The Card Concept #55

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

We have a bright and sunny photo for you today.

I was inspired by the yellow and black and just the fact the photo made me want to smile:

Here is our photo:

Originally I had made this card for this challenge but I am on the Clean and Simple DT and all these dots made this card not a 'true' CAS card so I CASEd myself and came up with this version. This version made my CAS loving heart happier! The orange'smile' is heart embossed and the rest of it is made with stitched dies.

Remember you can create you card in any style or combine styles.

This month our Guest Designer is the very talented Becca. She will be creating mixed media cards for us. Becca's blog, The Damsel of Distress, will be known by many of you but if not, pop over there and you will be inspired.

The Card Concept #53

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept. We have a colour challenge for you.
I do struggle with colour challenges but I ended up with a card I really do like:

Here is our photo:

I lightly stamped the flower in blue on to the card. I also used the same colour blue as my base card. I then embossed it on vellum in pink and coloured the back side in green. To finish off I added a baby pink enamel dot in the centre of the card.

My card is 'Clean and Simple' but you can create your card in any style or combine styles.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very creative Wendy.. Take a look here at what Wendy and the DT have created to inspire you

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

We have a fabulous photo for you today. I was inspired by the colours and the egg shape.

I don't have any egg stamps so went with a balloon that is egg shaped:

I embossed the balloon in white and then used gold delicata ink for the stars and sentiment. All my stamps are from Uniko

My card is clean and simple but you can create in any style you want. These are defined here. You can mix the styles also. We love to know what style you have used, so don't forget to tell us!

Hello All,

We have a fun challenge for you at The Card Concept.

Here is the card I made:

And here is the photo and colours to inspire you:

I don't have inks for most of these colours so had to hunt out some DSP. I die cut flowers from the DSP and just stamped the leaves. I managed to still make this Clean and Simple although I did have to mess around with the design until I was happy with it!

You can create a card in any design you want. These styles are defined here

The Card Concept #47

Hello All,

We have a new challenge for you at The Card Concept. We have our colour challenge-cream, chocolate, kraft and grey. We also have this fabulous photo to inspire you:

I found this colour combo a tough one but actually ended up making a one layer card using a very old stamp:

I was inspired by the yummy looking cake and decided to use all our colours to colour up my stamped cake.

First off I stamped the cake in rich cocoa ink, then used copics in warm grey, skin white (for the cream) and brick beige (for the kraft). The card base is also cream. I am not the best at colouring but this was fun to make.

My card is 'Clean and Simple' but you can use any style you want-check out here how we define these styles. You can mix them up also. Just have fun!

Our Guest Designer this week is the very talented Lesley, she has stepped out of her comfort zone and gone all Shabby Chic and what an amazing card she has made.

Our DT have all come up with some fabulous cards using all these styles-have a look here, then get inky!

The Card Concept #46

Welcome back to the The Card Concept 2016!

We have some fun challenges lined up for you this year and we are kicking off with this warming photo:

Lots to inspire you here.

I am on the 'Clean and Simple' design team and was inspired by that yummy looking hot chocolate, the colours and the love theme. This is what I created:

This card actually went to my hubby as he is the chocolate lover in our family. I made him this and gave it to him along with his fav bar of chocolate.

I embossed the 'chocolate' sentiment-it is from a larger sentiment so I had some tricky masking to do. The kiss and 'swak' were added later. My hubby is a CAS lover so he thought this card was perfect-good job too!

Remember with this challenge you can design your card in any style you want or even combine styles. Take a look here to see all these styles defined.

Our fabulous DT have all created wonderful cards to inspire you-have a look here and the join in the fun!

I will enter this into:

CASology-simple-the simple pleasures in life-kisses, chocolate and lots of white space!
