Smile-you are strong!

Hello my crafty friends,

Today I got a bit arty with my watercolours and made this card:

I used the Sassy Smiles stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays. I water coloured rainbow colours onto the 'Smile' and then stamped it onto the water colour paper and allowed the paint to drip over the small 'strong' sentiment. I then just splattered a few drops around to add to the 'arty' look.

I like this sentiment and think it is one we all need some days!

Have a Beautiful Day

Hi All

I hope you are all having a beautiful day.

I now I have used this flower from Altenew quite a lot recently and am sorry if you are sick of seeing it! I just love it and today I have another take on it inspired by photo the April Inspiration Challenge at Altenew

The flower and sentiment are from Altenew

The yellow flower inspired me to colour the main flower in yellows-and yes-I used copics! Quite unusual for me but I did enjoy it. I also used the other colours as a base but didn't quite have the right shades.I used the main colours but took the more vibrant take that you see at the challenge this week at Cupcake Inspirations.

My layout is taken from the sketch challenge at The Flower Challenge

Time for Wine?

Hi There,

There is a story behind this card-if you have time and want a giggle, you can read it below the picture.

I got the idea for this card when I saw the 'one layer curve' challenge at Less is More-I didn't stamp the whole clock so it was just a curve and rounded of the edge of the card to add another curve.

The colours I used are from this week's challenge at The Paper Players.

This sentiment is from a new set from My Favourite Stamps

This card was meant to be a quick and easy CAS card!! But it didn't go that way.

The idea came to me really quickly. I got out the stamps and inks and was expecting it to take me 5 mins. How wrong I was!

At first it took me quite a few attempts to get the clock in a place I was happy with. Then the sentiment....I was being so fussy, it took more attempts to get this right. The rubbish bin was now full of discarded attempts.Once I was happy with everything and ready to photo, I noticed I had a smudge of ink in all that white space.
Normally I manage to cover up my smudges or not worry too much but for some reason when making this card I was being a super fussy card maker......and if you know me, you will know...I really am not like that (IRL yes, but in card making-not so much!). I just gave up and came back to it 5 hours later. This time it came together in my expected 5 minutes!

So, a not so quick, CAS card!!

I will also enter it into:

Darnell's NBUS and April Fool challenge-I realise I should have kept at least one of my discarded cards now to show you!

Rainbows and Butterflies!

Hi All

Wow what a sunny day it is here in London. I have been sunbathing on our balcony and even got a bit of a tan.
Just come in to share a card with you that I made for a few challenges-some water colouring and white heat embossing:

I heat embossed these tiny butterflies from CAS-ual Fridays then water coloured my rainbow. The sentiment is also from CAS-ual Fridays. I performed some stamp surgery and then heat embossed it onto black card stock and popped it up on foam pads.

I had a lot of fun making this and I will enter it into:

Time Out Challenge #80 Reminder

Hello New and Old friends of Time Out

I am back to remind you that you still have time to join in our current challenge. It is our 'Inspired by Words' challenge and the words are:

'When it rains looks for rainbows, when it's dark look for stars'

This week I have summed up the whole phrase that to me encourages us all to try to look for the positives in life. Plus I through in some stars as well!

You know I love a one layer card! The colours where chosen to project my positive angle-we all need it sometimes!

The main sentiment here and the large star are both from The Ton. The smaller stars are form our sponsors for this challenge Uniko

Our Guest Designer this week is Marilyn. Her card last week was amazing and this week she has another stunner to inspire you. Take a look at Marilyn's card here and also see what the Design Team have created for you.

You still have nearly a week to play. The challenges closes 12th April BST

Easter Blessings

Happy Day to all,

I don't make many Easter cards. I just needed one more and here it is:

I was firstly inspired by the gorgeous photo at Inspired by Little Things-where they are celebrating their 50th Challenge-congrats! I loved the peachy colours of the flowers and the white background curtain and used this as my base idea. I followed the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch, using score lines and splashes of paint for the finer details.

I decided to use the 3 pastels challenge at Less is More. This proved harder than I thought as I don't have any pastel watetcolours. However I had fun mixing the stronger colours with my white water paint to give me pastel colours and I like how it turned out.

The flower is from Altnew and the sentiment from Verve

Have a fun day.
