Time Out Reminder.

I am popping in this morning to remind you that you still have time to join in our photo 'Home Sweet Home' challenge at TIME OUT.

Here is the photo we have to inspire you:

This time I decided just pick up on the pinks and greens in the picture but have gone for slightly different shades plus I loved fellow DT member Bev's idea of using the curtain as inspiration. I picked up on the curtain hoops. I got the idea of the hoops as soon as I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch

I was also inspired when I was looking for ideas at the Iron Craft Challenge. This time I went for the collage of stamps. I liked the sentiment set from Winnie and Walter where you can mix and match sentiments. And the logo at the top also caught my eye. I have used a sentiment builder set here from STAMPlorations.

You still have until next Wed to play along at TIME OUT Challenges. Check out our blog and see some more cards to inspire you plus see if you were a winner in our last challenge!

Time to take some TIME OUT and join in the fun!

Addicted to Stamps and More #97

Its time for our 'Make your Mark' challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. That means you need to use some kind of marker, pencil, paint etc on your project. This week I stepped outside the box and had a go at some 'real painting'...well I say 'real'!!

I decided I wanted to have a go at drawing my own flowers and then water colouring them. Now I really can't draw but this one afternoon for some bizarre reason I wanted to leave the stamps aside and have a go!

I looked to utube for inspiration and came across this video and just went right ahead and gave it a go!

These flowers were hand drawn first in pencil then I used water colour paints to create the background. I then used a mixture of paints and water colour pencils to colour the flowers. This was my first attempt and I really kinda like it. I am going to try this again when I learn to draw something else!! The sentiment is from Stamplorations

We are sponsored this week by Eureka Stamps. Check out their fab store here.

And don't forget to visit our main blog and see all the awesome projects our team have come up with.

I am going to enter this into the Iron Craft Challenge-inspiration 1-trends. My card is inspired by the water colour paints photo.

Addicted to CAS #39

Its time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS and this week we the very creative and talented Vicki is a host. It is very apt that Vicki is our host as it was her Birthday this week and I am dedicating this card to you Vicki-Happy belated Birthday! She has chosen the following code word for us:

When I saw this word a while ago I thought of using felt, copper sheeting or wood grain embossed card and was sure I would have plenty of ideas so didn't think too hard on it. A few days before the challenge I was stuck! I couldn't think how to use all my ideas so had to think in a different direction. First I will show you my card then if you want to you can read how I came about creating it.

I decided to show you my favourite way of adding texture to a CAS card and that is using my linen embossing plate. I love the texture this gives and many of you know this is probably my most used crafting tool! I added some cork just for a touch more texture. All subtle ways you can add texture to your project.

I got the idea of this from a few challenges. Firstly the colours come from the latest challenge at Uniko Studios and here I have chosen a Uniko stamp set that my blogging friend and owner of Uniko, Bev, gave me as a pressie for my Birthday. I am for the first time entering the The Iron Craft Challenge that I found through Virginia's blog-this is for the Inspiration 2-memories. When I saw this collage it reminded me of when Kylie came to visit me and we crafted together-the photo of the 2 girls laughing reminded so much of our time together.

Memories

And finally the Flower challenge at Casology helped to focus my idea.

This week at Addicted to CAS we are sponsored by Scribbles Designs-check out their store here. And we are lucky enough to have the lovely Darnell as our Guest Designer. See her and the other Design Teams' fabulous projects here.

If you have made it to the end of this blog...Congratulations! But I have one more announcement before I leave you alone!! Over at Stamplorations we are having a little party for Vicki's Birthday-why not join us!!
